Ya, sure. That's coming from a beyond delusional Met fan. Who also happens to spend more time talking Yankees than he does Mets. Pathetic.

I talk Mets, but not here, whats the point in that? But it is funny to see what most yankme fans think about their players and such. But keep your fingers crossed, I hear toronto is shopping halladay, maybe the yanks can get him for kennedy and melky...

You're an idiot.
you mean kennedy and melky cant get you an ace? but melky has a good arm and kennedy completed 3 innings a couple times last season.
Just because i can show how ridiculous alot of the offers or perceived value of players is doesn't mean you have to get your panties all up in a bunch.
I don't get the name calling (troll). Jay is making intelligent discussions. There should be room even in a Yankee thread for posters who offer critical views, and I'm glad you post here, Jay.
yankme? you gotta come up with a better name than that...

I'll definitely agree with that comment!

I think every GM in baseball would acknowledge that the Yankees made a collosal error in judgment in passing on the Johan trade just to keep unproven kids.
that's strange cuz i heard plenty of baseball people saying the Yankees made the right move by passing on that deal when that all went down, including the Yankee haters on ESPN who love to take any opportunity to rag on them any chance they get... but i guess there's a survey out there someplace i'm not aware of.

no point in talking Mets here but u find a point in trashing the Yankees on a Yankees thread every chance u get... there's a classic Mets fans' logic for ya.

Chill. I'm talking about what they would say now. Sorry that didn't come across clearer
hindsight is always 20/20... i know u were in favor of that trade going down as was i, but it didn't happen & i understand why the Yankees hedged on making the deal... at the time both Hughes & Kennedy showed huge promise... sometimes u make good trades, sometimes u don't, & sometimes u pass up good trades... obviously we coulda benefitted greatly by trading for Johan... i was willing to give up Cano & Wang for him at 1 point, that's how much i wanted the guy... at some point u gotta move on & focus on what we need to do in the future.
Heyman seems to think we're set on pursuing every bigname out there this offseason hoping to land at least 2 big name arms & either Mark T or Manny, pretty much what we've been talking about on this thread for the past few weeks... i think we got a very realistic shot at 3 big names this offseason, 2 of them being starting pitching, which should be our main concern right now.

Well I was only responding to DJ; I wasn't bringing up the topic. That said, I'll move on when the Yankees show real improvement or hire a new GM

Do you suppose it wasn't the GM's fault after all, since Torre lost in the second round with the Dodgers?
Getting the right coach is the GM's responsibility, just like getting the right players is.

to be fair, Torre wasn't hired by Cashman... everyone knows George did all the hiring in NY when he was in charge, & his sons are doing the hiring now w/the choice of Joe Girardi.
The New York Post reports that the Yankees plan to pursue Mike Cameron if the Brewers decline his $10 million option for 2009.
"I am not going to tell you that's right or not," general manager Brian Cashman said. "We are going to do whatever to make the team better, that's the bottom line." Cameron has long been among the game's most underrated players and would be worth a one-year, $10 million commitment from Milwaukee after hitting .243/.331/.477 with 25 homers and strong defense in center field this season.
