Thank God for Tex in that situation man. He finally came through.

They would have called the game after that out.
Yeah, that was great. I hope this is just a delay, not a postponement, though. It would be so anti-climatic if all we got was a cancellation after that.
TMS @ 5/6/2009 10:29 PM
game on... Matsui strikes out w/Teix on 2B... 3-3 tied up going into the 9th... here comes Mo.
Bonn1997 @ 5/6/2009 10:43 PM
Mariano threw some outstanding pitches there.
TMS @ 5/6/2009 10:44 PM
Mo's cutter is nasty tonite... just struck out the side after a leadoff single where Damon made an effort to dive after but muffed it.

Rays batters arguing those calls is ridiculous, all of them had plenty of the plate... nothing close to the call Swisher got rung up on... how come Swish gets the boot & Upton doesn't? BS!
TMS @ 5/6/2009 10:48 PM
Mo taking it upon himself to wake up his teammates shouting encouragement off the bench after doing his job in the top part of the inning... that's what leaders do... Cano leads off w/a single... Gardner up, 0 outs... LET'S GO!
TMS @ 5/6/2009 10:49 PM
Gardner sacrifices Cano over to 2B... Melky up... a single wins it

Melky works a walk... good discipline not swinging at some bad pitches... Ramiro Pena up... let's go ROOK!
TMS @ 5/6/2009 10:57 PM
Pena slow grounder to 3B beats out the throw by a hair but ump blows the call... 2 outs now, men on 2nd & 3rd... another pitching change, Molina due up.
TMS @ 5/6/2009 11:04 PM
these umps are killin me... KILLIN ME!!!

Molina flies out to RF, coulda been the potential game winning sac fly instead it's end of inning... bonus cantos as Kay likes to say... wonderful.
VDesai @ 5/6/2009 11:04 PM
They got screwed by the ump tonight. This game should've been over.
TMS @ 5/6/2009 11:04 PM
Coke comes in & gives up a leadoff HR... bullpen strikes again.
VDesai @ 5/6/2009 11:16 PM
Come on Tex! Excellent chance to tie the game here!
VDesai @ 5/6/2009 11:16 PM
Fuck you Tex!
TMS @ 5/6/2009 11:17 PM
Matsui... last hope.
VDesai @ 5/6/2009 11:19 PM
UGH...bad loss. Gotta get the guy in from 3rd with <2 outs!
TMS @ 5/6/2009 11:21 PM
this team ain't makin' no playoffs... gimme a break... this is pathetic.

ARod better hurry back & start producing right away cuz this team is well on its way of a repeat of last year right now.

we don't have one consistent .300 hitter in the lineup outside of a gimpy matsui. maybe damon (who constantly gets big hits). everybody else is a total question mark. jeter's lost alot. and tex is batting .200. swish was a bonehead for getting ejected.

tonight was on the offense. pitching came through despite coke.
TMS @ 5/7/2009 7:59 AM
last nite was the offense... tonight will probably be the starting pitching... game after it'll be the bullpen or the defense... there are so many things being done wrong by this team, they're just not clicking & playing good baseball period... they can't even execute the little things like moving runners over when called upon, making non-errant throws to 1B & not falling asleep on the mound while guys steal homeplate! i've never seen a Yankees team play sloppier baseball than last year's team & this year's... even throughout all the years Joe Torre was MGR, it was never this bad.
Bonn1997 @ 5/7/2009 8:13 AM
Occasionally the problem will be the offense. However, the problem for this team is really pitching and not hitting. Even if the offense has struggled under certain circumstances, they've still managed to be big time run producers. The team is 3rd out of 30 mlb teams in runs scored per game. In contrast, the starting pitching is 27th and the bullpen 28th out of 30 in ERA.
