Trade Molina for some pitcher who may be able to help us in the pen. Cervelli should be the backup. We need some more youth.
VDesai @ 5/18/2009 9:07 PM
Jeter should've went back for that one, but man Pettite just doesn't have it tonight. Not sure that the Yanks are gonna be able to make this lead hold up if they don't score some more.
VDesai @ 5/18/2009 9:15 PM
Ugh...Yankees have failed far too often this year with a runner at third and <2 outs. Terrible strike call by the ump though.
nyk4ever @ 5/18/2009 9:15 PM
Wow that pitch that Hirschbeck rung Jeter up on was about a foot outside...
djsunyc @ 5/18/2009 9:22 PM
more and more, umps strikezones have expanded and haven't been consistent...

It's terrible...

I thought thats what Questec was for. I haven't heard that mentioned in a while so I'm assuming guys like Glavine and Maddux finally got that thing canned?

i wouldn't trade Molina w/Jorge's injury woes of late... Cervelli's been doing a great job behind the plate but Molina provides us nice depth once he returns.
VDesai @ 5/18/2009 9:24 PM
I'm not sure why Pettitte is still in the game but he's been treading on thin ice all night...

Agreed...the Yankees need to at least be 3 deep at catcher at this point.

Aceves has pitched a lot of late, maybe Joe wants to try & squeeze 1 more inning out of Andy so he can go straight to Coke in the 8th.

I hope they didn't leave him a couple batters too long. This is a huge spot coming up for Veras
TMS @ 5/18/2009 9:28 PM
well, so much for that... not a great performance outta Andy but he pitched to the score & battled through some long innings... most importantly he gave us length... just hope Veras doesn't stink it up here.
nyk4ever @ 5/18/2009 9:29 PM
Time for the pen to earn their days pay. Andy did not pitch well but battled enough (as he always does) to keep the Yankees on top when he leaves. Just get us to Mo...
VDesai @ 5/18/2009 9:30 PM
This guy blows...come on dude, throw a strike...
nyk4ever @ 5/18/2009 9:31 PM
Glad Veras was ready to pitch tonight.. 3-0 first batter.
nyk4ever @ 5/18/2009 9:31 PM
Thanks Veras. You fuck.
VDesai @ 5/18/2009 9:31 PM
Whoa Dave Eiland has to come to talk to this guy after one batter
GKFv2 @ 5/18/2009 9:32 PM
Girardi's genius: If you want to win, pitch Veras to get you out of a jam.
VDesai @ 5/18/2009 9:32 PM
Phew...thankfully gets the job done.
djsunyc @ 5/18/2009 9:33 PM
veras exhudes confidence...
VDesai @ 5/18/2009 9:35 PM
Yankees need to send down Veras when Bruney comes up...this guy is pretty useless. Would've rather seen Robertson or Melancon get more of a shot than watch this guy labor to throw strikes.
