I agree, go with Wang tomorrow. He's so much better at home. Plus he hasn't pitched much the last few weeks so his sinker is up too much. He's too strong. Pitching on short rest might help him keep his sinker down.

Ok, Fire Torre if they need Joba tomorrow and he's not able to pitch because he's pitching 2 innings tonight with a 5 run lead.

Joba is not a mopup guy!!!
islesfan @ 10/7/2007 9:49 PM
32 pitches and counting for Joba.

He's toast for tomorrow completely.

Great job Joe. You better win tomorrow.
WOODMANnYk @ 10/7/2007 9:52 PM
With Torre job on the line, it looks like they will go with Wang who does have an 11-4 record at home.

BTW, im at the stadium for game 4 tomorrow.. YESS!!

It's official! WANG goes tomorrow in game 4.

just got back from the game - awesome time.

going in i didn't know what to get from clemens but didn't expect him to go more than 4 innings tonight. i was very happy hughes was called in (he's my 2nd favorite pitcher on the team behind mo). and he didn't dissapoint.

the stadium was loud early, then after cleveland went up 2-0 and clemens looked like crap, the crowd became subdued. but the damon shot basically blew up the stadium.

when he hit it, i stand on the bench (i was in the bleachers), everyone is gasping, and as it cleared the fence, the whole place EXPLODED. everyone raised their arms at the same time - damn near looked like a hitler youth rally.

derek "double play" jeter.
i'm liking posada less and less each game.
melky is awesome. melky got chants all night.
damon is a good player for the playoffs - johnny damon chants all night long.
don't understand why hughes didn't pitch 1 more inning. torre is gonna have to explain that one.
joba's fastball went from 98/99/100 to 95 in that final inning.

btw, did i say how much i like hughes?
Allanfan20 @ 10/8/2007 1:03 AM
I'm gonna complain for one minute. I'm freaking pissed that I am missing these games b/c of work. This freaking sucks.

Clemens had his hamstring wrapped in the previous inning. It might have been a mistake to even throw him out there to pitch the third inning.

Lets hope he does well tonight. Basically though, we bought ourselves tonight and then maybe Game 5 in Cleveland but thats far as we go. I doubt we are doing much more against Sabathia and they might even throw Carmona our way. We aren't getting out of this series. Sucks but the future looks good with Joba, Hughes and Kennedy.

Sabathia wasn't exactly untouchable. We got 3 runs and knocked him out after 5 innings. That doesn't even qualify as a quality start. Wang was simply worse.
Bonn1997 @ 10/8/2007 8:52 AM
There's gotta be a lot of pressure on Wang now!

i think you meant to call him MAYrod.

Carmona threw some nasty pitches to strike him out.

If ARod can't hit Westbrook, Byrd and the Indians bullpen when it matters, then he's officially MAYrod.

those were nasty pitches...but he was completely fooled on that last one. he has to make contact at least...especially if he's gonna demand $30 mil.

he hasn't come through since game 3 of the '04 ALCS for us, but the series ain't over yet... it took Reggie til he got to the WS to finally break through on the big stage in NY... maybe that's how it'll be with ARod, who knows... there's 24 other guys on this team that need to get the job done too if you want to make it there... Mr. Captain Clutch hasn't exactly been clutch this series either btw... fans that pin all the blame on ARod need to chill out cuz we're not even in the postseason right now if it weren't for his sick season this year.

he's got his chance to come through tonight against a pitcher he should crush... let's hope he gets some hits & keeps the boobirds off his back for another game at least.

manny and ortiz are the type of playoff leaders we need to play with jeter

I never thought I'd ever see anyone mention the words "Manny" & "leader" in the same sentence.
TMS @ 10/8/2007 10:56 AM
anyone wanna guess who they're gonna replace Rocket with on the roster?

my pick would be Ian Kennedy... he shoulda been here to begin with, but my gut tells me it's gonna be Ron Villone.
Bonn1997 @ 10/8/2007 11:23 AM
I think they've shut down Ian Kennedy b/c of total inning count like you suggested a while ago.

Those are some great photos!
TMS @ 10/8/2007 11:30 AM
that's why my gut tells me it's gonna be Villone... Hughes probably just solidified himself to take over Rocket's rotation slot anyway w/that clutch performance last night.

yea, I take that back, I was on some emotional shyt that night, manny is a jackass and far from a leader, but he produces... I like ortiz....

Forgive me on that one. I will never confuse manny with being a leader again..... LOL..

Keneddy is nowhere near the yankee team. He's on his honeymoon since he just got married 2 days ago.
