You Jinx! About 1.5 hours later Mariano gives up a single to Murphy. These guys are going to be tough, especially if Kinsler comes back 100%. AJ made one mistake last night. I want him to build on this performance, but he has yet to pitch a game in which he doesn't make at least one costly mistake. Aargghhh...

Marcus Thames should be seeing more AB's... forget about Lance Berkman, he's washed up... Thames is hitting over .300 right now & he's already had a couple very clutch hits this season including a walk off game winner.

He's definitely making a case for more PT -- two nights in a row batting 3rd he's really responded..To be fair, Berkman has looked a little better of late himself -- drew a big walk tonight late in the game during our comeback rally. Thames will definitely be in the lineup again tomorrow against Bruce Chen..Tremendous comeback win tonight..Down 6-2 with Cliff Lee dealing the way he was, I thought it was over man..We showed great grit & resolve..Mo showed why he's the best, shutting down the heart of their order after giving up that leadoff triple bottom 9..Excellent win. We actually picked up a full game (the Rays lost to Verlander tonight). Time to keep it rolling...Tex will be back tomorrow in KC. Congrats to Tex and family btw!

what i tell you? Marcus Thames is a much better hitter than Berkman right now, it's not even close. just play the guy & have Berkman come off the bench.
Bonn1997 @ 8/12/2010 8:10 PM
Thames should have been playing more all season. I'm glad he finally is though. He's a .800 plus OPS guy and he averages 30 plus HR per 500 at bats.

Pettitte had a set-back in a simulated game. He experienced groin pain and couldn't throw hard.

WTF? I just got home and I see Vazquez threw 106 pitches in only 4 innings!
sidsanders @ 8/16/2010 10:45 PM
they need a spark... playin awful in aug
TMS @ 8/17/2010 2:52 AM
this team has been lifeless... the trades that were made to spark this team have done nothing... somebody needs to step up... it's time for the stretch run
sidsanders @ 8/17/2010 3:31 AM
past 2 weeks they had a chance to bury the east. tb was playing awful too, h-2-h matchups and they couldnt close anything.
sidsanders @ 8/20/2010 7:23 PM

Yup..Spotting King Felix an early 3-0 lead is not good..Still early though..AJ has to hold it right here and we're gonna have to chip away.

Right now we have only two dependable starting pitchers.

at this point i'd rather see Chad Gaudin starting games than him... & AJB has also been a trainwreck of late... get well soon Andy!

Ivan Nova got the call up and will start the next time Pettitte's turn comes around. I like it..Kid's had a damn good year at AAA and deserves a shot..

Instead of Mosely?

Why did CC come out after only 76 pitches? (I wasn't watching.) Was it just to keep him well rested or did he get injured?

Mosley is pitching on Tuesday. This is most likely a 1 times appearance, unless they want to move Javy to the Bullpen or something. Everybody is getting pushed back. However, Kay and Singleton did discuss the idea that CC may pitch on Friday, which he'd have his 5 days. Whether it's true, we shall see.

CC pitched great today though. He was at his best, but his start was cut short after 6 because of the rain delay.
