In his last two starts, CC has 19 Ks and only 1 walk! I didn't see yesterday's game. Was his velocity in the mid 90s again?

Now these are the Yankees I know and love.

Meanwhile, Mr. Asterisk hovers and wonders why everybody suddenly seems to hate him... apparently 2009 seems so long ago now...

Glad he got busted, its going to be fun watching him try and collect the rest of his contract. Good riddance. Never wanted him to be a Yankee.

Even after getting the ring?

Didn't see the game. Work blocked the stream

He cheated to get it. Its clear now he never stopped using PEDs.

You don't want Pettite to be a Yankee either, I suppose?

I guess some will argue "in for a penny, in for a pound" but I'm not one of them. I believe in second chances and I don't believe Pettite was a career juicer. I had a feeling that Arod never stopped using peds, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Watched him choke too many times when it mattered, and when he finally comes through, we find out why.

We both know that Yankee history is replete with great players who also battled their share of personal demons, and at times it got ugly. But most of them put the team first. I don't see Rodruigez as that kind of Yankee, never did.

The Yankees haven't had this weak an offense in decades. It's a bad sign that the Yankees' offensive #s (BA, OBP, Slugging) are all identical to their opponents. That suggests they're a .500 team that's just had some lucky breaks. The discouraging thing is that I don't think the Steinbrenners care.

Are you kidding me "they don't care" is that because there not spending big like both of those L A Teams..I thought they did just as well as GRUNWALD picking up solid rotational/utility players with out breaking the bank (which there famous for) and looking foolish like those L A Teams Dodgers/angles.

Ever the optimist, I would like to point out that our Gardner is hitting .280 .280!!! That alone, along with the fact that most of this season we've had the gross national product of half the world sitting on IR, and we're still not 40 games out of first!

Try enjoying the fun of watching Chris Stewart run the bases! It will take your mind off our offensive inefficiencies!

At least we're not the Mets! Despite the favor we gave them of making them relevant for a week or so!

Gardner is playing very well. I'm happy with him.
Injuries are a bad excuse. It's like with the Knicks. We have a very old team and you should expect these injuries.
I know George would have bought at least one more powerful bat to help get us through this stretch with injured players, and that would have helped enough that we'd probably be even with or ahead of Boston right now. I don't think these Steinbrenners care though.

That's a given. When's the last time you saw Hank or Harry or Hooever on a back page?
I had little to no expectations for this season. I'm just hoping Mariano finishes the season relatively strong, and Pineda provides something approaching a #2 or #3 starter...

Yikes...18 innings to lose 2-3...

Bonn1997 @ 6/15/2013 8:08 AM
.689 team OPS! (.241 average)
Other than Cano and Gardner, the offense is hideous.
jrodmc @ 6/17/2013 8:28 AM
On the brighter side, Tex is getting re-injured at a rate that all but ensures he's not doing roids!

Plus, his hitting sucks!

5 game losing streak over! The mighty Puljholz has struck out!

jrodmc @ 6/26/2013 7:34 PM
Ichiro with the walkoff! A small highlight in an otherwise abysmal early summer of NY sports! Sports that matter, that is.
We are the Bronx Bombers again! Who needs Mantle, Maris, Ruth and Dimaggio? We have Hafner, Gardner, Nix and Ichiro!

John Sterling's homer calls for Ichiro should get the 880 WCBS in some kind of lawsuit.
It was worth listening to the game just to hear his call on Brett's homer: "Gardy goes Yardy!!!"

Classic.

Being a homer has it's privileges.

Bonn1997 @ 6/30/2013 10:54 AM
It's falling apart and the Steinbrenners don't care. I hate these guys.
jrodmc @ 7/1/2013 8:11 AM
Losing streak goes past ten games and Joe G will be gone. I think being worse than the Mets might even get through to the Steinbrenners.

Please,, not Bobby V!

I don't know what the Yankees were supposed to do this year??? Everyone know there was going to be some hurt given the mega deals they handed out to older guys. Personally, I'm happy they aren't trying to buy their way out - it only defers the rebuilding process
MaTT4281 @ 7/1/2013 2:07 PM
I haven't been keeping up on everything this season, but heard speculation on ESPN Radio (citing an unnamed source from the Daily News) that A-Rod's camp is thinking a life-time ban pending the PE investigation may be right around the corner. Speculation being that A-Rod is trying to rush back, play in some rehab games, then retire "due to injury" and collect on the full remainder of his contract, whereas the contract would be voided with the ban.

Even for the Yankees, getting out from underneath that contract would be nothing short than a blessing.

Not really. That depends on what you're buying. George bought effectively for many years.

wow that's crazy and, yes, that would be a tremendous gift from God
