It's weird pulling for the Red Sox. For any reason.

Soriano and A rod have been God sends for the Yankees who have had 9 lives this season. Cant give Cashman credit there--it was the owner who made that call. Also nobody wanted A rod--not 1 fan management other than the owner. Steinbrenner helped the Yankees this year. Give A rod some credit--hes played very well hen he couldve been terrible in many aspects. It shows that his stupid personal mistakes with Steroids shouldve been avoided--the guy is a great baseball player who did not need the drugs. Hes going to get some sympathy now and people rooting for him to beat his case when NOT 1 person wouldve otherwise.

The owner made the call on Soriano? didn't know that.

Everybody loves anybody who's batting 2nd, hitting .300 and getting doubles in the gap and slamming game-tying homers. Let him choke in the playoffs, or down the stretch, and everybody will be back to talking up his banishment and how the Yankees should be able to void his contract and invest it in some other starphucques.

Cmon, bonnie, pay attention to the radio. Susan Waldman informed us that the ball hit his shoe, so he's out.

I didn't realize that if it hit you when you swung, that meant you were automatically out.

You are not out if you are in the batters box or in foul territory.

I believe she stated he was on his way to first. I guess he was in the basepath, out of the box.

The pitch hit him on the basepath? That doesn't make sense.

Did he swing and slightly hit the ball the then the ball bounced and hit the batter outside the box? That is what I was assuming.

If batter swings and misses and the ball hits him, then it is strike 3 and the ball is dead once it hits the batter so the batter can't run to first base. That's my understanding.

Huge win. 3/4 against the O's was a huge boost. Have to hope they can beat the sox.

Gardy with the oblique strain. He better heal fast. I do not want to see Arod leading off. Or Ichiro, for that matter.

I don't know who sux worse, Robertson or Joba. Maybe they should have a contest to see who can blow the most leads, and the winner gets to go play for the Mets.

Don't see why the O's can't beat the sox; Tampa doesn't seem to have any problem.

Bonn1997 @ 9/13/2013 8:37 AM
I think Granderson will take Gardner's spot in the lineup.
Bonn1997 @ 9/15/2013 9:18 AM
Despite all the injuries, we really had a chance for the 2nd wild card but we've gotten killed by Boston over the past 6 meetings.
jrodmc @ 9/16/2013 8:59 AM
Boston just convinces me that we just really suhuck. Oh well, hopefully we beat the pizz out of Torunto.

On a better note, this CJ guy is so vastly better than Susan Waldman to listen to, I'm starting a petition to ask that she stay out on permanent observance of every Jewish feast day for the next 15 years...

Bonn1997 @ 9/16/2013 9:59 AM
It will be really interesting to see what the team will do with Cano. If they're going to insist on staying below the luxury tax, then I don't think Cano is a good investment even though I want to keep him. You have to diversify your investments. You can get several very good players for the price he would demand, and you won't be so dependent on one person staying healthy and productive.
jrodmc @ 9/17/2013 12:43 PM
Diversification is a great approach to the game. If you're the Mets, not the Yankees.

I'm guessing they spend whatever is necessary to keep Cano. And then let the starphucquing begin in earnest. Doesn't look like there's a core 4 lurking down on the farm anywhere...

I'm more interested to see what happens to Cashman...does he stay?

Bonn1997 @ 9/18/2013 6:21 AM
4 straight losses. What a disappointment!
jrodmc @ 9/19/2013 9:00 AM
1 straight win and we're only 2 1/2 back! What a boost!

All we have to do now is win all the rest of the games! It could happen!

Bonn1997 @ 9/20/2013 3:54 PM
Andy's retiring. Great career. I wish he'd stay longer. Right now, he's the team's #1 starter.
Most likely our starting rotation next year is Nova, CC, and 3 unknowns.
Bonn1997 @ 9/21/2013 9:35 AM
That was crazy! A-Rod can barely run or swing but he hit that grand slam.
Bonn1997 @ 9/21/2013 3:47 PM
I guess Nova is our ace.
A-Rod's slam was awesome but I'm still not convinced he's a better option than Reynolds/Overbay at DH. A-Rod is still just 2 for his last 30!
Bonn1997 @ 9/22/2013 9:27 AM
Nova is the most exciting thing about this team going forward.
I love Cano but it's hard to justify $200 mil on him. I'm not saying he used steroids but so many players seem to have major drop offs right after they got their big contracts. It's just too risky to give him $200 mil. I think you're better off with 4 very good players each on contracts around $50 mil and finding cheap respectable vets like Overbay to fill out the bench. If we knew for certain that Cano was doing this clean, I'd say give him $200 though. But you can't know that with anyone. Look at how Pujols, Hamilton, and Verlander all dropped off after getting their big contracts.
Bonn1997 @ 9/22/2013 1:22 PM
Having Metallica there live was pretty awesome
jrodmc @ 9/23/2013 9:23 AM
What about Pineda next season? Is the guy ever going to pitch for us?
I still think Soriano is going to have a really nice end to his career here. Hopefully he stays that long.

I think the playoffs have gone buh bye. Just as well. Wouldn't want to make it just to get swept by the Bosux.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Pineda. Who knows with him.
ESPN's formula gives us a 1.2% chance of making the playoffs. Everything has to go perfectly.

Sabathia out for the rest of the season. Hurt during the best game he's thrown in 4 months.

Raise the white flag boys, game's over. (Phil Hughes pitching the middle Rays game)
