from marc berman:
Carmelo Anthony, rejected emphatically again by center Roy Hibbert, called the rout “embarrassing’’ and then called out Mike Woodson for not making any adjustments to counteract the Indiana onslaught.
Anthony didn’t understand how it got away so quickly as Pacers coach Frank Vogel did all the right things after the opening period. Woodson, for his part, called it “a total team disaster.’’
“They made adjustments the way they played the pick-and-roll, the way they packed the paint and stayed with our 3-point shooters,’’ Anthony said. “They made that adjustment. We didn’t make the adjustment back to it.’’
It amazes me that people can't see what our real problem is.
As a head coach you evaluate your players on what they do well and protect them from doing things they aren't good at.
When a coach out coaches you where is your pride to put the players in the best position to win games.
Lionel Hollins plz come to NY!
Who you kidding? Mike Wudsen is a ball of fame coach
Now that the golden boy has spoken, his pack of minions here WILL follow, as they will never give anyone credit who said this and repeated this time and time again
but instead continue to find another way to bash my threads and opinions in another form rather than protect Woodson
The "NEXT excuses"
next up Chandler/AB and back to STAT being injured, then rinse and clean followed up by JR, Felton, Pablo, Udrih
Finally building up to, CA should leave for his own future as he has done everything he can and in his power

lol i liked d'antoni actually, but if you are talking about woody being a replacement for mda, guess what... i am pretty sure most people that wanted d'antoni gone didn't want woody as his replacement!!! i mean what did the dude ever do in atlanta??? thats like hiring mike brown as a coach. Lakers saw what happened with that.
Danton was NOT a good coach for the Knicks (especially as the stress built up towards the end of his career in NYK but he did have a great philosophy on OFFENSE that he rarely had talent and players to execute for the most of his career)
replacing him with Woodson with some of the opposite philosophies but similar reasons to why Dantoni was a horrible coach here (stubbornness, inability to develop younger players and build their confidence/skills, and unwilling to see or make adjustments
A poster here recently said, "The ones that complained about Dantoni should not complain about Woodson"
In the same theory if I don't believe in Melo (with the talent we have around us) we could use Chris Smith to be our next SUPERSTAR because we didn't like or believe in Melo and now we got the next leader/scorer or w/e player we didn't desire or believe in...

I think Melo was saying the players did not adjust back to it, meaning, they did not execute. Why is it your always amazed that people can't see things you can?
Indy has best record in the NBA and playing at home.
The blame game is for losers. Its not black and white that woodson is or is not the problem. The real problem is the many factors that add up. If players don't execute the coach looks bad. You can line up coaches as many as you want year in and year out but if your roster is flawed and don't execute your not going to win more than you lose.

no doubt that our roster is flawed, but a real "coach" is someone who knows how to maximize the talents within his team and knows his opponents.
so we've got offensive minded bargs, defensive minded chandler, 2 way player carmelo, 2 way player but headcase smith, 2 way player shumpert, could be rookie of the year hardaway jr, and no-defense Felton...
can you really sit here and say that woodson has maximized their potentials? i dont think so. so yes, he is to blame.
Tyson also said he Knicks just didn't make adjustments
How good would Shumpert be playing for Indiana

could be a lance stephenson type. paul george hibbert all those guys are knowns. lance stephenson killed us last night. i mean absolutely no one stopped him.
Hasn't he called out every coach he's had?
Bonn it's obvious from last yrs playoffs and this yr, he has no strategy.
Mike Woodson isn't an innovator.
Real NBA stars take the blame for losing even if it is not due.
So the real Man.
Melo is forever crybaby so I do not read much in what he sad.
He has no credibility.
Woodson is out of place here in NY.
And any other coach who will be greedy enough to take money from Dolan will be out of place too.
Its a hard way to make leaving... but man its good hefty paycheck. I guess it worth the shame.
Woodson has the creativity of an assistant coach, nobody on his bench is a threat to unseat him either.
Could it be this is why he's considered just an regular season coach ?

You seem to think that just by replacing woodson the team will all of a sudden become a contender lol. Look im not a fan of Woodson but he isnt the only problem. I think you are overrating the talent of thsi basketball team. Other than melo the talent is mediocre its just the Truth

No what i'm saying is he limited , so the team he coaches will be limited. I never said he was the only problem, I'm saying he doesn't have the ability to lead this team.

He's only had 4 coaches and that's counting Woodson. Jeff Bzdelik, George Karl, Dantoni are the others....
When you suck everybody complains. Woodson should have been fired a month ago.

You know what? You are totally correct! MDA and Woody have the same exact faults with the exception of one being considered more of an offensive coach and the other being more of a defensive coach. One thing MDA had over Woody is the ability to make lesser players play better if they fit his system.

It seems like this is your argument a lot. Just because we don't name every single problem the Knicks have every post does not mean the problem we are naming is the only problem. It is pretty obvious that no team is as bad as us with only one problem.

up and down this roster, you see guys are playing way below there averages except for melo, so how is it that he's not getting even the normally out put for majority of his roster.
when MDA coached the suns and Nash earn the MVP award, every single player was playing well beyond there avg.
Woodson thinks he has a bunch of high IQ players that will figure it out on there own, and not only does he not have any, he doesn't even have that guy (like kidd) who's smartness tends to rubb off on his teammates, or a defensive junk man who's energy an extra effort boost up his teammates.
