interesting statement was made at some point of last night's broadcast, where someone said: "grizzlies [are one of the few team that] play playoff basketball during the regular season." this may not get you the best record or the highest seed but it apparently has its benefits. this is why it always pays to ask whether the team you root for looks like a playoff team or not.

"a win is a win" is false.

Gasol is not underrated..he put up some horrendous shots, much like Aldridge last night and he didn't have to..He won defensive player of the year when he wasn't even the best defensive player on his team...Gasol is a lot of things, underrated ain't one of them..

he has made only two all-star appearances in a seven-year career. what does that tell you?

It tells me that DHow has been injured at least two years

it tells me that style trumps substance in the nba all-star voting process, ie howard is overrated if gasol is not underrated.

DHow is a force when healthy..He took Orlamdo to the Finals..You might have forgotten..

yeah d-how is a force all right. getting blown the f out by the clips by 22 points as we speak.

d-how is my least favorite player

not a fair ultimatum when you are without kevin love, who, presumably, lebron himself gm'd.

I believe that LeBron would rather see Lue as coach. This isn't the first time that Lue has covered for Blatt. LeBron had his dust ups with Spoelstra, but he seemed to have more respect for him as a coach.

Blatt actually tried to sideline LeBron in crunch time with the series on the line by making him inbound the ball. That's crazy and a really bad idea for a rookie coach to do with a player of LeBron's stature and influence. Might not be fair but Blatt isn't exactly making a case for himself right now.

wow i didn't know that! how did you suss that out? i watched a bunch of the post game and from what i got from blatt's postgame was that lebron "took the check" on the dinner. you understood something different, apparently, but what's your source?

That's what Brian Windhorst said. He said that Blatt drew up that play and LeBron said "no, give me the ball!." He said of Blatt's late game miscues, that he never seen anything like it in his years covering the league. He usually is pretty spot on when it comes to LeBron. Windhorst gets a lot of flak for being so closely tied to James, but he is a good writer/analyst IMO.

if this is an accurate portrayal of what actually went down then kudos to blatt for acquiescing to an all-time great.

As you said, LeBron is the defacto GM, its not like he had much of a choice. Wasn't the first time Blatt was overruled by James. Blatt might be better served coaching a team that's rebuilding with younger players. Learn the NBA game under less pressure.

Blatt had great success in Europe and Israel, the last minute addition of James, Love, the other vets, and championship expectations might turn out to be too much, too soon

Unless Randy Wittman is on the Clippers sidelines, as Marv would say, we are in for some extensive garbage time..

Well it's McHale job to figure it out..Putting the ball in your boy Harden's hand all year to have teams shut that down in the playoffs, didn't work..Howard took a bad team to the Finals already..So he could come back next year and watch Harden dribble the air out the ball and see what happens..

interesting advanced stat of the night, and highly ironic:

deandre jordan 6-7 fg, 14-34 ft, for a 59.2TS%

the hack a jordan doesn't stop him from being efficient.

And that's your deduction???..Not maybe these numbers are meaningless??Not completely asinine??

holfresh @ 5/10/2015 11:15 PM
The man just went 14-34 at the ft line and your conclusion is that he is efficient..Amazing..

as i said it's "interesting." that means i am not sure what to make of it. it certainly had something to do with a blowout, no?

what do you make of it?

what's amazing is that it did not hurt his team... at all. it's a 32-point annihilation and if it was such a big deal the game would be a lot closer, according to your "logic."

holfresh @ 5/10/2015 11:20 PM
Hey dk7..I'm going to have to start charging you and Bonn for hoops lessons..I have been telling you all year about Harden's game when we get the the playoffs..And you don't have the common courtesy to say, holfresh, thank you..

wow i cannot believe what's coming out of your cakehole, even more audacious than the usual claptrap. you are getting schooled so bad you need to resort to preemptive strikes. i get it but guess what.... howard sucks.

you're welcome and that'll be 25 mill. go ask your boy marshmelo for a loan.....

probably some in his crapper too-- kind of like his career. bang!

Hey Briggs..What's the score of Bulls/Cavs?..86-84..Ready to start talking about adding defenders yet?
knickscity @ 5/10/2015 11:56 PM
That is so idiotic, why on earth would the players have to stay mid-court during a replay? Thats an official timeout, no different than TV timeouts.
mreinman @ 5/10/2015 11:58 PM
is this the same harden who is have a great great great post season while (lets use the melo excuse) he has to do it all alone?

I thought that when you don't have the support cast you jack em up at 30% ... like uh melo?

holfresh @ 5/11/2015 12:06 AM
You three ball/metrics guys are in denial..U never thought ATL,GS, and Hou would looks like this..The smart man would look at the evidence and reevaluate..Or keep doing the same thing..

take what? How silly your chest bump is coming across? How good old school adridge is?

How Harden is having a more efficient off season that most superstars can dream of?

You seem like a guy who can make excuses for each epic fail for melo yet they look quite silly when you start digging and good players without you quirky malformed logic.

Harden is super super star that may lose. Then you can say "ha! I knew it. He is no good. Seeeee?"

really dude?
