I've been thinking about the same but with different players:
WCS Melo Carrol Middleton Gallo
Overpay for Carrol/Middleton and hope for the best.
OR
WCS Milsap Melo Carrol Gallo
Both of these appeal to me. Middleton is my #1 "kinda sorta maybe available" RFA. I think ultimately the Bucks will match (FWIW, he's also said he wants to stay in Milwaukee)
I think a similar type of lineup could be:
WCS Harris Melo Carroll Gallo
I'm having a brain lapse, who is Harris?

I keep doing that with him! It's Tobias Harris of the Magic

Hibbert may be in play - he has a player option and the Indy brass is trying to get him to opt out. Hibbert's best years were when Indiana was running Brian Shaw's system, which had Triangle elements.
I would sign on for something like:
Galloway Winslow Carroll Melo Hibbert

I see Winslow as a Caron Butler type. Good player.
That is a great comparison. I have always liked Butler.

Just knowing the drills tells you what they are looking for, and maybe even gives you an idea of what they think his weaknesses might be. The only reason you don't take Winslow is that you see some kind of flaw in his shooting or ability to get his shot off that you feel cannot be fixed.
If you saw the Johnson video, you saw a guy with a shooting style that might be difficult to tinker with, unlike Mudiay, IMO, who has some mechanics issues that seem fixable to me.
Everything else about Winslow makes him worthy of the 4 spot, and if his shot is more polished you might even see him go to Philly if LA actually does take Russell.
Annoying to not get specifics or even something you can chew on, even though I understand the silence.
How can "wannabe" GMs like us make good choices without the right info?
Gotta keep the teams picking 1-3 or even below you guessing....It gives us an edge.
What if it's like the Steph Curry situation.....I don't think Steph would've went before us, if we didn't continue to pump him up. Private workouts are fine with me, as long as they are actually working them out. Winslow might be the real deal, or not.....It's a chess match that none of us are playing. We are just spectators. The funny thing is the draft could still lay out like they predicted months ago.....But this is just normal stuff to explore all options.
Its hard to say if Curry would have been there but during the Walsh regime every team knew who the Knicks would pick and could set their draft board according to that. Keeping the other teams guessing is wise.

i think knicks might go with who impresses them the most in these workouts?

OR
WCS Milsap Melo Carrol Gallo

Alexis Ajinca WCS Melo Carrol Gallo
I like A and B better than C. In each you can possibly add back Shved with the Room Exception. I replace Middleton with Danny Green when everyone yells that Milwaukee is not letting Khris go.
jbeachboy@ 6/9/2015 8:06 PM
how much you paying those guys?

I can't see Green leaving Spurs but what do I know. My dream lineup:
Gasol WCS Melo Carrol Gallo
Shved THJr Early JSmith Lou Cole Jose
Wouldn't mind Jose/THJr for Stephenson + 2nd round, 39th pick

I bet your dream matches up pretty much with Phil's too!
What he wouldn't give to convince Gasol to come on over. I like that starting lineup. I think it may end up being Monroe, WCS, Melo, Carroll and Gallo tho. Gasol seems like he's just too comfortable in Memphis. Monroe sounds like he can't wait to get out of Detroit. I bet he's already checking out places in NY on the down low.
holfresh@ 6/9/2015 8:35 PM
Winslow does the Draymond Green intangibles..We saw it in the NCAA tourney..He defends and rebounds..If he finds a shot consistently, he will be a star..

How do you split the 28MM among Gasol and Carroll...You max Gasol and hope Carroll is happy with 8 for the year? Or that they both take a lil less. Its a really good lineup there.
I'd gamble on Calderon for Stephenson if it got us that pick.

I'd do it without the pick. Worse case is you get out of Jose's deal and have more cap space in 2016.

I think Winslow future is becoming a sane version of Lance Stephenson. They're amost exactly the same size and are equally strong. I think Winslow is more explosive and Lance had better handles coming out. If Winslow can get his handles and play making up to Stephenson level he would become a secondary star.

Ill take that..I think we need the perimeter defense..

I would to but I just don't know about his handling or if he can grow into becoming a play maker. It would have been nice if Phil would have listen to me and locked up Shaw after he was fired to get his player development skills but oh well. lol. I just hope he can bully smaller twos on straight line drives similar to Lance. HE definitely had a better freshman year shooting 3s so that's good. If he comes in as at least an avg 3pt shooter that will help him gain a step when attacking player's close out attempts I may have been the first to question Winslow's size but I do like he has a very long standing reach, that and his explosiveness will help him guard taller players. Plus, there are always some guys who can play bigger than their height. Hopefully, he can make the transition to 2 and not play the 3 full time.
yellowboy90@ 6/10/2015 12:31 AM
Also, I'd take crazy lance while his value is low if it meant a 2016 1st and 2015 2nd plus filler.
