Wroten made a sort of joke tweet with a winking emoji right after reports came out that the Knicks (and other teams were interested)
I'd be really interested in taking a crack at him. He looked really good last season.
It allows the Knicks to buy some time with Grant and maybe give him a D-league stretch to build up confidence in his J.

It just makes too much sense not to bring him in. We have the biggest need of all the teams at guard. As you say it takes pressure off Jerian and eliminates using Sasha.

I think it is a reference to knickstape?

ohhh, well that makes sense then, thanks for the reference. man, we could have really used wrotten last night. galloway started the season off so great, but he's fallen off offensively, grant has picked it up, but other than that, we're really struggling to get scoring from our guards, wrotten would be a big help.

I agree. I like Wroten a lot. It seems like now would be a good time to sign someone with Early out.
I don't mind a 10 day or even a 2 yr min deal w team option. Send him to Westchester after working out a deal with the 87ers and get him on the Shved, D.Will, and Lance Thomas rehabilitation plan
I think we need to give this guy a try with a 10 day. If his knee is right then he can give us the athleticism we need at the guard position.
The kid is still 22 and hasn't played a complete season in the NBA yet. It's like picking up a 1st rd pick for nothing. He's younger then Grant and still needs to be developed, but really what's the risk. He has the size and skill set to play on this team and should be plenty darn motivated to buy in the effort department. With our schedule right now, I don't see what the hold up is.

Does he? Does he match the type of player Phil is looking for? I'm not sure.
Wroten is a guy who benefited from being on a terrible perpetual tanking team and being able to do his thing without consequences.
Terrible outside shooter, and I seem to recall reading some criticisms from Philly sources about his D.
Better guys to take a chance on, I would think.
Like Jimmer, Wroten has almost become a cult icon around this forum.
A team full of mediocre guards just let him go...this tells me everything I need to know. Let him play for Westchester and take a look at him there and if he is in our practice facility.
Also have to remember he is coming off an injury, and in the game he played against us a number of weeks ago, he did not look so good.

ok, so he's a year away....from being 2 years away
. There is room for growth. He has the athletic tools, but yeah, skillset was a reach. Bad word choice on my part

You've talked to Phil?? Now that's impressive.

So you talk about looking for another player cause Wroten's D is bad and then you say we should look at Jimmer?? I don't get it.

I haven't and didn't even come close to suggesting it, thus the "I'm not sure". Also, one can observe and come to an independent conclusion, no?
Are you at a complete loss as to what type of character, skill, player phil is looking for?

I just said Wroten was a cult figure to some- did not say to look at Jimmer, who is already on Westchester- I meant that Wroten should sign with Westchester so we can see what he can do.
I tend to think that if Phil thought Jimmer was worth the call-up he would have done so already.
I'm actually more intrigued with Christian Woods, even though we don't really need another at his position at this point...Is he still out there, or is Phil afraid of his character issues?
Purely an interest in Woods' potential, for me.
i'd be happy with some pesky MoFo who we could use to slow down a guard when gets hot; some undiscovered Patrick Beverly. Somehow I feel those guys might exist in D league or riding pine in nba but I can't name any
Knicks need an upgrade at guard. We are getting great play out of D Will and still have use for O'Quinn and Seraphin.
Signing Wroten to a ten day would be like trading for Brandon Jennings. Knicks need the guys around to keep the chemistry intact. Wroten should fit right in. Kid is still only 22. He's actually younger than Grant. it's a no brainer.
