And I think the opposite. The first unit has too many ball stoppers (or guys that hold the ball a bit more than other cause they can/should be able to get their own): Melo, KP, Rose.

Inject Jennings into that lineup and maybe you take the ball out of Melo's hands a bit more?

If you think that will win you more games but I don't...Melo's value to the team is in him drawing the attention he draws...It's frees up KP and opens the lane for Rose..Conversely the treat of Rose and KP has given Melo good one on one looks...You take Rose out then I'll double Melo or KP and dare Jennings to shoot...

Put Jennings in for whom? Noah? Then Lee is a sf? Then Rose is a sg? Can't we have players play their own positions ever?

Yes, this is needed for the knicks future. They need to learn how to score consistently without ISO Melo. It's a confidence builder that must happen, and Jennings helps that development as the only pass first point guard on the team. In fact, Jennings shows you the weakness of this team.....A lack of pass first players, who can also be an offensive threat. Noah is a pass first player, but without the threat to score, his passes are harder to make, and usually lead to a turnover or a tough shot, since his man is not even guarding him.

But they are scoring without ISO Melo..KP is getting his and so is Rose...They are getting theirs as a result of ISO Melo...

Knicks doesn't have an offensive problem, it their defense...

Rose?

This is a bit of a hypothetical and about fit with first unit. Not sure I'd actually do it but I do want the ball out of Melo's hands more.

The problem is Melo is not really being double teamed much. And even if he is, he isn't giving up the ball much, just shooting or iso bully ball. His assists are down, this shooting percentages are falling.

Rose?, Can't sign up for that. Desperation move. Rose has been playing very well and getting better. Players have egos and that move could really destroy the team.

Shooting percentages falling because Hornacek plays him for long stretches which is destroying him and worth it's own thread...There aren't any good reason why the oldest guy in the starting lineup is playing the longest stretches..

I don't think that's the cause.

actually you need a true PG on the first unit...not someone who needs to score the ball to be considered a threat. rose i think is incapable of keeping everyone happy on the first unit.

i dont think rose is capable of keeping melo happy on the first unit this is why iso melo blah blah because he is many a time given the ball to score on a bail out possession. i think jennings would get him many more easy buckets which would also take his mind off iso melo

Melo has been making money off ISO basketball the last 13 years...Jennings isn't going to change that..I would double Melo or Kp if Jennings in on the court because I know he can't shoot..The problem with the Knicks isn't offense, it defense...

um....you are wrong and right at the same time... you cant double melo because if left wide open, jennings will shoot and he is a streaky shooter. more importantly, jennings WILL find easy buckets for the rest of the starting lineup.
as far as problem being defense... again, jennings is better than rose in that department.

yep. but no one should be shocked though given his recent history. giving him a 4 yr contract was a mistake

I rest my case after tonight's game. You saw what Jennings did with big mins with starters
