Rose played like that way before he got to NY. He needs to turn himself into a pg and Kern how to draw contact.

Rose played the way he had to because he was the offense of the Bulls and the coach was unimaginative..But Rose had better assist numbers on the Bulls and the team played better team defense..They were a better coached team..But he has showed he is willing to make adjustments..He doesn't always go hard..
The fact that he doesn't take contact when it's easy is puzzling...If that's not coaching, I don't know what is..It's way too easy...KP also has regressed...It's coaching..Only guy impervious to all ineptness from the coaching staff is Melo..That's why you see no other offense than ISO Melo..Woodson had more diversity with Felton running the point..

Yeah, he's actually been a lot less bad here than he was 2013-15 in Chicago. .412 FG% in 127 games in Chicago vs. .461 here and .017 vs. .052 win share 48 rating.

And he shot .557% from the field with better advanced stats than Rose had. So that's not helping your argument. You were apparently saying we shouldn't care much about Rose's 2013-15 stats because he was injured. And then you mention a player who put up good #s while injured to support your argument?

That's not what I asked..Was he injured??..A player can play 65/66 games and be injured..
The injury, an orbital facial fracture really delayed his season start. As it were, once back it was a healthy season for him regarding his legs and his last thirty or so games he showed very good play.
Thats a lot of rust to shake off!
I know its only cool to point out the best in Non Knicks (don't post when THJ has an average game), or when Pop, a top 10 all time coach in the NBA's history, does something good with the second best all around player in the game, (Kawhi, two time defender player of the year), sits for a minute to discuss something with this coach.
Obviously, few coach's do this. You didn't know until you saw it on tv and Hubie brown pointed it out. From that, you draw assumptions. You draw a lot.
Draw the W-L record. That tells the story. Kawhi and Pop also have continuity. Knicks have revolving coaching staff and players.

But Rose is a better player than THj for sure
Doesn't mean I'd rather have Rose long term
The move comes down to THj vs Holiday. I don't think Rose will be a Knick next year.

As I have pointed out..I didn't post when Tim had the 28 point game...Not true regarding my observation of Popovich over the years...I have seen Pop call time outs after one play at the start of a game...Hornacek is not proactive when it comes to time outs and team momentum, etc...He rarely stops in game to correct bad habits, or change team direction, or to stop the other team's momentum...I look at these things..Anal, yes...Honestly he has been better at it but at the beginning of the season, he rarely stopped game action to correct mistakes...
But with all said, Phil is here to change the culture, no??

That's more a matter of opinion. Does playing through an injury for parts of the season make it an "injured year" or just a normal NBA season? There's no objective way to answer that. Regardless, mentioning Amare's strong play that season has no bearing on how to interpret Rose's stats. You're just distracting from the discussion. If I answer your question with a "yes, he was injured and still played pretty well," how would that change the interpretation of Rose's seasons?

Yes, KP has regressed from the first 25 games. Heal has been a problem. Allstar god to very very good play, albeit uneven.
Regarding Horny, Yeah, he is not Pop. Its also why one can't totally dismiss the win against them. Pop wants to win them all. I would agree also Parker was not held to a high standard. I'll give our boys some credit on Aldridge though. I'll also take the win.
Nugg's beat GSW two nites ago. I know we sucked against them prior, but they are not a pushover team. GSW likely mailed it in on them, but never the less.........
Regarding Rose, I find the whole subject of him so very interesting. His game has many facets and his explosive ability is crazy. Now, can it be harnessed and refined? Can we get that Jumper with some arch?
Would he be better off without Melo? Or shall we say, "KNicks" better off without Melo???
I know many here have their minds made up, but we dont' know the extend of his AWOL event, or what Phil thinks of his game and place going forward.
LIke Melo, he is not my favorite personality but he came at a great discount (for a reason) and has great potential.

Bonn you tend to present these arguments where we get lost in the weeds and never tackle the original point..You attempted to point out Rose's "poor" years...I could say that Rose's game is highly dependant on his physical well being, you will surely rebut saying it's an opinion...
My only aim was to point out his lower stats were an aberration due to his injury history...His play and stats this season seems more reflective of stats he put up in "healthy" years..More conjecture right??
