It sounds like the Knicks are right with saying he was belligerent from the front door to the time he got arrested.

It'll be interesting to see testimony from people who aren't paid by Dolan.

He also got very racial with the garden employees calling them all "whites" and to get the whites story straight and that they're gonna riot in the streets over this. That's all horrible stuff to say.

Charles was making statements: “All you whites over there get your story straight, why don’t you have some brothers over there with you, Fuck all you white boys.”

There were plenty of people explaining their interactions were neutral with him. You didn't see all 16 statements exaggerating his actions. Just because they are employees doesn't mean they are wrong. The Knicks don't need to be out there chasing statements from fans who were seated near him after the fact.

No, of course the Knicks don't.

That's for Oakley's lawyer to get.

Dolan is a lying sack of shit. Can't believe y'all buy this with no questioning.

crzymdups @ 2/10/2017 5:38 PM
Look around the league. No one in the league believes this portrayal by the Garden. No one.

It's a player's league. It's a giant fraternity. I'm with you, i need to see more, but no one around the league, or fans, are siding with Dolan. Doesn't matter who's right or wrong. No one around the league was there to witness what happened. They are supporting Oakley as an emotional decision, and out of loyalty. I don't like DOlan at all, and think he went about this totally wrong. But i am trying to be non-biased here. It doesn't look good for Oakley so far.

Did you read the testimony? Isn't it amazing that msg employees working for the NY Knicks didn't recognize the 6'9" man in the suit was CHARLES OAKLEY??

This is a pile of lies.

Dolan's interview was slanderous. Oak should take him to court. The players association will probably pay for it.

The Knicks have made another massive mistake.

I can't believe you are buying the other side without questioning.

I love Oak like anybody else, but there are two sides to everything. He didn't have to get physical with security. They didn't grab him even when they escorted him out. All he had to do was leave and sort it out later. Makes you wonder what happened before the video.... well only rational minded people.

The New York Times has quotes from fans in attendance that directly contradict the Garden. Why would the Times make it up?

Why would the Garden? We already know. To make Dolan look less like an idiot.

Read the testimony. To believe it you have to believe that 18 msg employees didnt recognize Charles Oakley and let him get to his seat within 20ft of Dolan already acting belligerently. Do you really believe they would let Oakley within a mile of Dolan if he was already acting like that?

crzymdups @ 2/10/2017 6:04 PM
If Oak just lets this go, I'll believe it's true.

But I bet you he sues Dolan for slander and libel.

He should sue... but I'm not going believe one report more than the other. I know Dolan is a scum bucket, but Oakley is a hard ass too.

This is Dave Checketts' son. Smarter than Dolan will ever be.

NumberTwoPencil @ 2/10/2017 6:55 PM
I tried to ignore this story mostly because, at first glance, I thought it would reflect poorly on the Oak man and, yo!, Oak is alright, if a bit grumpy and shitty at times. However, since it's completely blown up, the more I read, the more I think that Oak was just Oak and team Dolan way, way, way over reacted and then tried to spin the story hard from the get go.

I'm sure Oak was saying shit. I'm sure he did not like being followed/watched by a Dolan/MSG posse but, whoa, tossing him from the game and then blaming it all on the Oak is a low, cheap, stunt and a totally Dolan thing to do. I hope Oak takes the high road and lets it drop, who needs to get more tangled up with the Dolans? No one needs that.

Yeah, that Spencer Checketts tweet above was the way to handle it, even if it got out of hand but Dolan would _never_ do that, ever. Is Oakley a difficult, bull-headed, opinionated sometime bigot? Yeah, even he would admit that. But he's also right most of the time and when it counts, he's a stand up guy. I didn't think I could dislike Dolan more than I did but now I do.

If there is a potentially violent situation you are supposed to remove one of the elements of a violent situation. In this case the easiest thing would have been to remove the target, Dolan. Oak is denying that he was the target. But if he was, just have Dolan leave his seat and go to a different spot for a few minutes. Once he was gone it seems like security could have talked with Oak and the situation could have been resolved.

Dolan said he didn't know Oakley was there until the incident..So he is saying he didn't hear anything from Oakley..By the way, the event as they as was released by the Garden is what Oakley said happened..It started becuase security was staring st him..

My take is the Oak went to the Garden and got seats close to Dolan..Security didn't find out that Oak was so close to Dolan until he was seated and they panicked..They were supposed to keep tabs on Oak when he comes to the Garden..They tried to get him to leave quietly and Oakley freaked..That's why Garden head of security was fired..Oak wasn't supposed to get so close to Dolan unnoticed..
