Why is it on Phil? Because the trade hasn't gone through it must be because Phil is an idiot, huh?
I'm hearing that Minnesota is offering Rubio and Hill...Knicks want Rubio and a draft pick.

The Knicks will have 3 of the 2009 lottery picks if they keep Jennings.
Obtaining Rose is not seen by contending teams as a good thing.
The only reason to get him would be to have his rights to signing him for more money.
Does not seem that Rose will have many suiters.
How did Phil manage to screw this up

Phil comes out looking bad again. Last night Wojo reported that the Knicks didn't care what they got back for Rose. Original reports were that the Wolves contacted the Knicks about Rose. Now there is no interest?
On a side note Bobby Marks and Wojo usually can't hide their disbelief at the minimum amount of time and work Phil and Vlade put into their jobs. These guys are around nba events, other execs... and talk about the work and non stop availability that other gms/presidents put into their job. Wojo said a big part of why Cousins went to NOla was because the all star game was there and it was easy for Vlade to talk with Demps.

Maybe the Knicks did care after all. I'm not sure Phil comes out looking bad at all. Rose is a 25 million dollar expiring that New York can walk away from and those have value in the new CBA because they allow a team flexibilty and cap space. If Phil was looking for Rubio plus a pick instead of more salary, it means that the Knicks cared what they got back and the report was incorrect or it isn't dead yet.

Will see. I will try to watch the vertical podcast on facebook if I get a chance.
Let's just keep in mind the very MASSIVE amount of hate that the Media has for NY, Dolan and Phil. There are guys in the Media that literally put out things intended to scuttle anything the Knicks try to do. This is not a level playing field.

Once again - Woj has built his career on being right about these things. Why would he purposely be wrong to make the Knicks look bad? It does him more damage than them. No reason whatsoever to believe he's lying here.

Not lying but willing to believe the worst and put that out there. Most of the time the public forgets the times guys get things wrong. Even a great scoop getter like Woj gets things wrong.
Woj is not immune to the general vibe in the Media regarding the Knicks. It will all be over in a few more hours. All the questions will be answered soon enough.

Lets hope this is the case.

Hard to be critical of Jackson re this trade without knowing everthing that has been talked about between the two sides. You also have to think about the the particular leaks about what might be going on and if the leakers might have agendas.
The fact that there seems to be so little interest in Rose tells you a lot about his value in the eyes of other teams, and unlike Anthony, I don't think Phil said that many things which would damage his value- the other teams simply his limitations as a player, IMO.
Early tonight about 7PM Dave Rothenberg on ESPN was texting with a source who said that TT realy wanted Rose, and we all know that does not help your bargaining position, yet I also heard yesterday that Minny supposedly wanted a draft pick from us, which seem ridiculous to me.
Just hard to know what other teams are asking for, so I'm hesitant to condemn Jackson at this time.
It seems like the latest iterations of the deal do not jnclude Noah going to the Wolves. For me, if Noah isn't involved, they can go kick rocks. I like Rubio and I find myself more optimistic of him than some but that's quite a bit of money to give up for a franchise that should be looking to tank. To be perfectly honest, even if Noah were included and we had to take back a Cole Aldrich, I'd immediately look to then parlay Rubio to Sacramento for Darren Collision and filler.
