Knicks · Jennings cut (page 3)

Wish we cut Rose instead, but it is what it is.

I don't want to cut Rose. He doesn't deserve that opportunity. Bj Armstrong is his agent so I dunno if Phil would do that to his client

Andrew @ 2/27/2017 10:13 AM
Maybe the Knicks still believe the Twolves want Rose and there is a possibility of a trade still happening (if Twolves are out of playoff contention). Prob a small chance of this one happening.
corvetteknick @ 2/27/2017 10:15 AM
Scroll up and read what Andrew said about math.... as in salary cap. Like teams over the Cap can't trade second round picks for players... and why would a team under the cap trade a second round pick for Jennings? They typically would be non playoff teams. Go back to school you nutterbutter.

Then I guess no trades would be made at the deadline, huh? And deals for expiring contracts at the deadline have NEVER been made before? As for teams not having cap space - don't act like every team is over the cap, and you (and Andrew) still don't know the difference between a $5M deal and a $12M and $10M deal, and how 5 is less than 10 and 12? You and Andrew are remedial morons.

Um - there's thing called the deadline. That's why they call it a deadline

Isn't Andrew talking about after the season?

I think Rose still has a little value if kept until the off-season. Possible sign and trade with a team that has not enough cap space to sign him outright.

Maybe so. I will never understand passing on Rubio, but so be it.

So I guess you don't want to post here anymore calling Papa Andrew a moron.

Btw... since you are an intelligent mofo, who would have given up a second round pick that's under the cap for Brandon Jennings? ⏳

In his response, he referenced "if the Twolves are out of playoff contention". That indicates in-season.

They could technically do it at the draft, though I don't know why the Wolves wouldn't just sign him outright in the summer.

Maybe the Wolves are worried Rose will ask for too much and if they can work out a sign and trade with the Knicks for Rubio they will? My faith in Phil is low at this point. I feel Rose will more likely just sign with the Wolves. Looking at their cap on Hoopshype, they should have about $30M this summer.

Well, if there is a ring to kiss to post on this board - I ain't the guy for this board. Especially if he thinks that a deal for Rose/Rubio can still be made if the Twolves fall out of playoff contention.

From what I see, I suppose Jennings on the trade block but no takers. I know he "wanted to be here" which us fans love to see. We also have money to spend and he had a big time audition.
From what I saw, he didn't pass the test. His shot is garbage. Streak shooter with awful shot fundamentals. I suppose the minutes go to baker?

As for charley ROsen, his words are not all Phil's. He does not sit on Phil's lap with a hand up his ass. Other than a few game where his energy was great, what else has he done???

Why is sasha here? He is cheap, and he was bought in as veteran who can shoot, play the triangle and do so in practice, and we likly promised him he would stay the season.
Why not cut Rose? Not sure I believe the awol story, but Rose is a very weird dude.
How solid was the trade that "phil blew"? IN the end the knicks blinked and gave what Minny wanted. Then Minny decided not to do it. Not sure I wanted rubio on the books as much as I wanted to move on from Rose.
Why not Waive Rose? What if nobody picks him up? Its kind of a shytty thing to do. Im thinking on the surface there is a bigger story here and some of you are making some guesses as to whats up with him.

I would guess Jennings has a destination as his agent might have felt out some teams in the event. BJ is a good kid. Lets not forget, teams that can offer the most money we often hear players say how they want to "Stay", and all the other good stuff that goes with it. As a player, I didn't see him as a starter, or one worth paying over 40million for over the next 4 years.

Does PHil get a pass or hate? Why can't shyt just happen without either? Maybe this is a player friendly move and give him an opportunity? Rosen can right what ever he wants. Jennings knew the triangle would be played here hand if could not "get it" its on him. Im thinking in any meeting it was bought up.

Same for BJ armstrong. He is Rose's agent? Yes, so don't you think Even he would work with Rose and prepare him for it? He played for Phil!!!! He played in the triangle. His career was enhanced by it!!!
Rose comes to Knicks, succeeds in the triangle, succeeds in being healthy, and you know a big contract awaits!!! Win freaking Win!!!!! Instead, Rose rejects it, is a bone head, and its going to cost him big time.

Imagine, players saying what all want to hear then ignoring what the stipulations were and then have to deal with reality! I don't get it.

Nalod @ 2/27/2017 10:35 AM
Knicks can always trade for Rubio with any spare part and absorb his salary this summer.

I was mistakenly thinking you could trade for a player but they would not be playoff eligible....mixing up my sports I think.

considering I won't get to sing this song any time soon as it relates to the Knicks and the playoffs:

na na na na... na na na na... hey hey hey... gooooooodbye

How about we name the teams that need Jennings at a half year rental that should be willing to give up a 2nd round pick for him?
