He is the only young player that has a contract other than Willy that can say something. This is a big deal. So was the top down comment. Phil has created such a dysfunctional situation. Why is Dolan always so loyal to the guys that just suck so bad at their jobs? Grunwald had a winning record and got the Knicks to the playoffs both years he was in place. Walsh was pretty good and certainly wasn't dysfunctional like Isiah. The league had to intervene to get Isiah removed. I believe Dolan teared up when he replaced Layden. Now Phil is getting two more years.

Does he emerge as a "hero" to teammates...and a potential leader, will to stand up to the "man?"

Going to get publicity...I think he earns point with other players on the team.

maybe. But he is going against management. I think he is right but it certainly doesn't go a long with creating a culture etc.

That is probably the narrative the media will take and some will refer to as the gospel. But those in the know that a young team will need time.

You'll see. If KP becomes the next scapegoat for Phil, half the fans here will be roasting him daily. He has enough flaws in his game that you can pick at them. He'll sign his 1 year deal and then be a UFA and we'll move onto the next villan.

I actually can't WAIT for Melo to be gone!!! This team needs to be free of this drama. I still want to hear from KP on this to see what his explanation is. He's going to have to talk with Phil and get clarity on things.

Phil is doing the right thing for this franchise. KP needs to understand that Melo's agenda isn't good for this franchise. One day KP is going to realize this.

I know you can't wait for him to leave. But dont expect the dysfunction to go away. Don't expect the team to start winning. Don't expect Jeff Hornacek to be given a real chance to coach with autonomy. Don't expect anything back for Melo. Don't expect Phil to mentor more or for his mentoring to have a positive effect, and don't expect KP to stick around if this nonsense continues.

Is there something there that you think isn't accurate? I just listened to Phil for 50 minutes. Nothing he said has given me anymore confidence that he is going to be a better executive. Someone, Bobby Marks?, said several months ago that based on his experience he would expect that KP's agent would have already contacted the KNicks about concerns.

Tell me is there any serious dysfunction if the Knicks draft well and are moving ahead minus guys that resist buying into TEAM BALL. Jeff and Phil are on the same page from what I can see. I can't wait for the Melo-drama to be over so we can be free of this crap.

Players sign because of other players on the team, not because of no president or GM..Players don't feel melo is the problem, and thats been echoed around the league.

Phil only cares about his triangle brand..

Yikes, someone is bitter

Is there something there that you think isn't accurate? I just listened to Phil for 50 minutes. Nothing he said has given me anymore confidence that he is going to be a better executive. Someone, Bobby Marks?, said several months ago that based on his experience he would expect that KP's agent would have already contacted the KNicks about concerns.

all of what you said was about predicting the future and you want to ask me what isn't accurate? All of it?

Nix tried to predicts the future all the time but you don't call him bitter.
It's amazing how Phil is involve in turmoil every year but yet we are supposed to think things will change.

Have you read Nix's posts? His are the opposite of bitter.

In KP's most recent interview he said in the offseason he's going straight to Latvia to crush ass... er I mean weights. He sounded extremely pumped about the insane amount of time in the weight room he had planned. He said he'd make time to train with Dirk if he's given the opportunity but other than that it's all weights. I'm pretty excited. I think he may have just high tailed it home to get started. Young guy may have gotten a little stir crazy watching on the sideline in suits the last few weeks.
