Not really they gave up a all star to a rival team for what I think will be a 5-7 pick, an above average roleplayer, a older PG who needs to be paid, and a prospect Big.
I still don't think this is the last move they make and I don't think they are about to reset around Lebron.

The pick. Dont forget the pick!
Also by trading Crowder who will defend LeBron for them now?
I think Cleveland got the better deal.

Crowder and Bradley both off that squad. They added stars but gave up a lot.

great trade for the Cavs another wing to defend Durant in the finals will be nice to have, getting the Nets pick is insane

Crowder ,Frye, shumpert for Melo and Oquinn. The Cavs could really use Lee
Cavs have IT, DRose and Jose Calderon!!! Quite possibly the WORST set of PG's defensively, possibly EVER!
I thought Celtics were committed to Isiah Thomas, especially when they didn't bite at the chance to get Lonzo Ball. They showed all the luv to Isiah Thomas during the playoffs when his sister died, guess there is no loyalty in sports.

your 2 best defenders for melo..really

The C's probably realize you're not going far with a really short but talented player, not to mention the NETS look a little more competitive, so that pick could be mid teens in the weak east. To me, Ainge does it again.

yeah the pick's worthless, the Cavs wont have any issues trading it to us.
Melo for Frye and the pick
I can't believe this trade
The Celtics made the Cavs deeper while recouping major talent and they got the Nets draft pick???
Ouch ouch ouch

Isiah Thomas made them relevant. They were garbage. Then they traded for him expecting him to be instant offense off the bench as a 6th man because their offense stunk. Then he proceeded to lead them to something like a 30-10 record.
D.Wade will probably also end up in Cleveland if he is bought out. With Lebron, Thomas, Love and Wade. That could be the makings of convincing Melo to add Cleveland to the list.
I have no idea why people are drooling over Nets pick. They will make playoffs this year.

blkexec wrote:Why can't the knicks do trades like this? Cavs came off lovely.....2018 pick was the tipping point to me. That's possibly another star player.....
Probably not. The East has become so putrid that I think the Nets will play themselves into the middle of the pack lf sub.500 teams. Even so, great trade by the Cavs.
Wonder if Melo likes what he sees in Cleveland now? Maybe move Love to a third team for something or someone the Knicks could use.

Knicks just can use Melo or his complete absents...
