Oladipo is done and has a bad contract.

If you start Toppin you have to also start both Mitch and Frank
You can have a great offensive player be a liability on defense if you put defenders around him on the court. That’s how we won 54 games in 2013 by having Melo on the court with defenders like Tyson Chandler and Jason Kidd

This confuses me... doesn’t he already have a jumper?
Toppin is already a better shooter than Oak and I love Oak. I met him at the Shop Rite in Palisades Park, NJ he couldn’t have been a nicer guy
Kurt not caught dead in a ShopRite Store!!!

I put Knox in bc we hear he’s going to make a major jump.. if not I would insert Ntlinkina at the 3.
PG: Elfred Payton
SG: Reggie Bullock / Austin Rivers
SF: RJ Barrett
PF: Randle
C: Robinson
Obi
DSjr / Frank / Alec Burks
Kevin Knox
I think that is how this looks at the moment.
Your forwards off the bench, Knox & Obi.
Guards off the bench, some combo of DSjr/Frank and Alec Burks with Austin or Reggie in the mix depending on who starts, who is hurt, etc.
I would like to see
C Mitch
PF Obi
SF Barrett
SG Burks
PG Rivers
It’s the best attempt at surrounding RJ and Mitch with shooting and playmaking which was my original goal.
PG Payton
SG Rivers
SF Barrett
PF Randle
C Robinson

Yep, that looks just about right for opening night. What about starters 3 months into the season?
This is what the rotation will be by( I wanted to say December), in three months:
Quickley
Rivers
Barrett
Toppin
Robinson

I got the same to start the season.
3 months in...
PG Frank
SG Burcs
SF Barrett
PF Obi
C Robinson
with Burcs, Rivers, Randle Noah coming of the bench… Im rooting for DSJ but just cant get hyped on all the preseason chatter on his improved shot anymore.
start of season:
pg- payton- this is almost by default because our other guards are not ready to start. could change but doubt it
sg- rivers- he is better off the bench but that would mean starting burke and he is a better scorer there
sf- barrett- i still think he is better suited as a sg but he will do well here for now. hope he improves.
pf- randle- until he is traded, which i think he will be, he is our starting pf.
c- robinson- right now he is arguably our best player and he cant come off the bench period.
eventual starters ( goal with current roster):
pg- payton
sg- frank n
sf- barrett
pf- toppin
c- robinson
we cant foul up another lottery pick like we did the others.

that is a TANK line up, I can see them losing 10 to 12 games in a row.
payton, frank, Mitch and barrett..lol, just pack the paint and watch them build a house of bricks

Reality is:

SF Bullock or Burks
PF Randle
C Noel
Contrary to Knicks fandom thinking, this will not be another year of "Just let the kids play". The kids need to prove they are better than the more experienced players or get accomstomed to sitting until they are.

Looks like Barrett at SF may be Thibs preference?
If Toppin isn't starting at PF this year I really have no idea
