Per Dave Rothenberg addressing a Woj Bomb.

everything is coming up millhouse
edit: i think this was a hoax. not seeing any news of this
According to a source close to Randle, the Knicks power forward loves the passion of the Knicks fans. Randle wanted to sign early to give the club as much flexibility as possible next summer and not convolute the matter.
Just need him start recruiting
Front office started this offseason weird, but the more moves they have made, the better it has been. Very good balance between a well earned raise and a flexible and movable contract for an All Star.

I’ve always wondered why don’t more stars do this. I mean, you will get paid, but you can also work with the team so you get your due but they can keep making moves to give you a chance to win. Yep, money is important, but in sports, so is being in a rising program with the goal of winning a championship during your contract.
Reasonable deal. Congrats to Randle.
Omg! I'm LOVING IT!
I can not stress it enough. Julius Randle just became an All-Star @ only 26 years old and that's because he just earned every bit of the NBA's Most Improved Player award honors.
Julius Randle just became the first NBA player to ever average during a single season (over) 20 Points per game/10 Rebounds per game, 5 Assists per game @ .400+ from 3PT range; since Larry Bird's MVP season!
And Julius Randle did it by averaging 24.1 Points, 10.2 Rebounds and 6.0 Assists per game along with shooting and draining .411% from 3.
Julius Randle's 2020-2021 statistical production was damn near identical to Jokić's MVP season last year (who's also 26 years old) and imo Julius Randle is not going to contend for just another All-Star performance this upcoming season but he's going to top 3 contend for the MVP award. because with the additions of Kemba Walker/Evan Fournier; Julius Randle is going to become physically impossible to stop.
Yes. He got burnt out and struggled during one round of the playoffs but I don't think many fans realize just how awesome his season truly was. It was MVP Larry Bird type of awesomeness.
We here. For the foreseeable future.

Now we just need a seasoned back up at the bully PF spot... Hmmmm... someone to come off the bench and spell Obi when he looks really lost...
I forgot to mention one thing. This is how you build a CULTURE. By rewarding the player who turned this Franchise around, came when no one else wanted to come and carried NYC and MSG on his back!
Julius Randle deserves every dollar he just earned and future NBA stars will take note. Because our Front Office now believes in paying their own and rewarding their best.
I didn’t think it was possible for today’s news to top yesterday’s.. awesome!!
What a steal!! Man this front office deserves a A+ now for the off season
This is a pretty major coup - a non max extension? Thank you Julius - you've relieved a lot of stress among Knicks fans.
Goes without saying, great move for the Knicks and great to see Randle get his money. Hopefully that playoff series eats at him and he comes back better than ever. He has plenty of help.
Wow!
Good things are happening this summer!
You want to be a leader? This. This right here is how you be a leader.
I've been majorly concerned about what a Randle extension would look like. I think I spent most of last season speculating about possible trades for Julius to help us preserve the asset he represented and avoid paying him what I thought would be max. I'm glad the Knicks and Randle proved me wrong. This is an excellent deal and feel far more comfortable rooting for Randle moving forward. I'm a bit shocked by how well this franchise has done this offseaaon. They're turning me from a pessimist into an optimist.
So I think Randle's year totals will be: $20M (2021 season, age 27), (extension start) $26M, $28M, $30M, $32M (player option).
