Knicks · Bullish on Deuce (page 27)

He lit up Gleague last year and it did not translate right away.
Little credit for Thibs? How about credit to the assistants too?
What your missing in your gold star quests is that nobody cares about your self prognostications.
Real accolades goes to a process that takes a player, young or old that has not succeeded before and puts him in a position to execute/succeed. Deuce, like Sims is coached well by the staff as they are able to execute the tasks THEN be fed more to do.
Things like RJ scaling back his shot selection and rebuilding his confidence without benching. Mostly on a 5 game road trip.
Putting Randle into position where he succeeds more than fails.
Grimes getting installed to starting lineup and over time getting more catch and shoot opportunities.
JB, after a hot start and teams adjusting, has added more by less. Randle back to point forward duties with Brunson off the ball. Keeps his wear down.
My take is both Brunson and RJ getting to the rim creates the offense rebound by mitch and Hart when the weak side comes to help. THis factors. Not like they are defying their coach?
If the yoot are succeeding now than before its proof they were not being held back, they were not ready. Fanboys won’t see that. They like conspiracy. Can’t give coaches credit if it means not laying claim that “I called it”.
Martin, we need a gold star emoji! Im thinking we need to have a blkexec honorarium for his work on unlocking the “Deceuce conundrum” as Thibs, who no doubt scours these pages for coaching concepts took the work and now shines.
Blkexec walks amung us with no ceremony in obscurity.

Big props to Deuce on those back to back 3s. After that Caruso put him on the floor, but JB got his back.
Congrats on a solid win!
Love my 2 way players (IQ, Deuce, Grimes)
And Nalod, if you haven't figured it out by now, I REALLY DON'T CARE. My light will continue to shine. Seems like the word I is killing you. Sounds like a personal problem. If your not a Deuce fan, no point in replying to my post. Sorry if the word I offends you, lets see how this sounds if that's better for you.
Excuse me if I was in my feelings at the time, after Deuce hit back to back 3s. But I'm just regurgitating all the negativity this dude got. Glad he found a spot in the rotation. Been screaming for this dude to get a chance, and finally he has. But this win is more about the team than Deuce. Check the time when this was posted Nalod. Youre extremely late!
Sorry, you don't like when I say "I told yall about Deuce" lol. Point taken. Sounds a little childish, but point it I'm happy for him and the knicks. Could care less if i'm right or wrong, to be honest. Just in my feelings at that time.

Yes that guy. You got it fish.
Keep in mind I was the only one defending Payton and Burks when they was on this team. And everybody killed them. Same with deuce. I don’t care if he shot 0-1000……he helps the team win and that’s what matters.

Not just deuce. He’s just the flavor of the month. But for every team we’ve had I love the underdogs. Even in fights like boxing matches, I root for the underdogs. And when they win it’s the greatest feeling in the world. Played ball with all girls cause nobody wanted them on the team and we best all the teams talking trash so yes. I’m the gate keeper for the underdogs.
Vs
Some in here are gatekeepers for other posters who are overly excited about their own knick players.
But if your taking notes, it’s more on my list than deuce. Grimes, IQ, Sims, Cam, Rose, RJ
But seems like deuce was everybody’s punching bag when I said IQ and deuce should get more PT. So yes im even more excited for deuce when he hit those 3s. And you saw the excitement in him. Great feeling.

So hey.. I may only be a 2nd tier Deuce fan but I'm still a fan. Got my card and everything
Deuce McBride is a 2nd round pick, struggled in his rookie season, played well in the gleague, kept at it, kept getting chances, finally won a role and is now in the rotation, looking good and playing a role he can grow in. Its a good job buy the FO for drafting him, the staff for developing him and McBride for all the elbow grease along the way. Lastly the support (and belief) from fans like blkexec is what really makes these stories possible.

I’m a huge Burks fan. What that have to do with deuce. I’m a fan of any 2 way player plus Burks was our Jordan in the 4th. If your not a Burks fan something’s wrong.
Yes I wanted thibs to play a PG not a SF. Yes that’s correct.
Did it matter if it was IQ or Deuce no. So what’s the infatuation of bringing that up again? It’s dead but u love to keep it alive I see. For what?
Deuce shouldve played earlier. IQ shouldve played more. I don’t care if I said an alien should’ve played. Who cares. It’s my opinion.
Some believe they wasn’t ready, and I respect that feedback. Some believe thibs knows more than me and I respect that. It’s not hard to respect an opposite view without calling someone out of their name or saying “did you play ball?”. WTF. But seems to be hard for you and others to show the same respect for someone with opposing views? Come on fish, give it up already it’s dead. You liked deuce out of college and I liked him as well. We are both happy for him. This is dragging but it’s entertaining for u and others so have at it.
I’m also a mason fan. Or Bonner. X man should be more appreciated. What if I said x man should’ve gotten more starter mins. Is someone going to blow a head gasket now? 🤣
Let’s keep it simple, if you have a knick jersey on, I’m a huge fan. Doesn’t mean I’m not going to call out what I don’t like or what someone should improve on from FO to coach to players. I love all knick players.

Since when did he struggle? His shooting might not have been great but he did not struggle. The same advance stats he has this year he had then. There is a reason why some fans were calling for him to be given a legit chance. Plus like I been saying all along he needed more consistent time to be in rhythm. All the dimension's of an NBA court are the same to a G-League court. So if you can hit open shots there you can hit them in the NBA. The only difference was in the amount of time he got to be in rhythm when taking them.
Plus there is more to basketball than shooting. I thought we would figure that out now that we are a much better team since we went to more defensive guards. Grimes been in a slump until recently and his impact was still great because of how good his defense was. There was a point when Grimes was shooting mid 20% from 3.
Since I have the attention of most, let’s start with what I hate. I hate these fake forum police fans always trying to control what a fan says or his opinion on things. I hate fans who thinks his way is the only way. Reduce the attention on fans and respect everybody’s opinion. That’s it. Anything else is unnecessary in an OPEN FORUM. Relax. We are winning but still try to find fault in fans?
Big ups to Grimes. Glad we did not trade him.

Fish……I’m a fan if you have the Knicks jersey on. Even if I wasn’t a fan before your a knick like melo. I wasn’t a melo fan but when we got him I was a fan. I guess Randle was the same. I wasn’t a fan but now he’s a knick I’m a fan. Team first always.
My personal attachments to players runs deeper into being the underdog and starting from the bottom and making your way up. I appreciate the hard work. Sims was an after thought in the draft. Mitch was picked late and nobody saw him as a starter at the time. These guys all worked hard and fort their way to relevance. That’s what I like more than anything. Grimes is looking like a young defensive Allan Houston. Love everything about grimes and love IQ spiritual side. Each player holds a certain spot for me for various reasons.
This is why starks my favorite player. He’s an underdog guarding MJ even though MJ had 4 inches over him and was stronger than him. Starks held his own.
Everybody was against RJ from his days in college til today. So I try to pull out all the positives and how he can be great. I still believe that. But it will take a special mix of talent around him. But that’s another story for another thread. As Martin told me, I talk too much so let me shut up 🤫.
Give kemet a break. I haven’t really paid attention to his post but I’m sure he’s a fan like all of us. Just has different ways to express it.

What your missing in your gold star quests is that nobody cares about your self prognostications.
Real accolades goes to a process that takes a player, young or old that has not succeeded before and puts him in a position to execute/succeed. Deuce, like Sims is coached well by the staff as they are able to execute the tasks THEN be fed more to do.Things like RJ scaling back his shot selection and rebuilding his confidence without benching.
