Because last year the Knicks were two games below .500 @ only 25-27 overall (after 52 games).

I only called the one's @ MSG and Yankee Stadium who had the nerve to boo Patrick Ewing/Derek Jeter/Julius Randle as being SCUMBAGS.

This whole discussion boils down to the double edged sword of celebrity.
People want to be "famous" with all the advantages and trappings that that brings you.
However, that is a blessing and a curse that brings along with it scrutiny of every living person that can pick up a sports page, or a national enquirer. I imagine no one thinks about it that, hey, if I do make it into the NBA (or MLB or Hollywood, or make a platinum record) everyone is going to be up in my business all the time. But that's part of the price of making tens of millions of dollars every year. If your fans didn't care, they wouldn't be paying the people that pay you. It's just plain facts. It would be better if people weren't so harsh, but they are. They should have a disclosure that you need to sign before getting into the entertainment business. Then celebrities couldn't say they weren't warned.

I, for one, prefer to be anonymous.

Though, in retrospect, I risked becoming famous when I beat Fishy in the Race of the Century on 33rd Street. CLose call.

Should we cheer Randle despite all the subpar play this season? I guess if he were under 12 I would because he's still developing as a child. But he wants to be the man/leader so I think it's fair to treat him like a grown man. Nothing distasteful of course - but he (and any other player) can be booed if he/they plays lousy. The flip side is at any profession you are judged on your performance. If I suck at my job my boss won't bring me flowers - he may reprimand me. Just because pro athletes are paid so highly doesn't mean they should be subjected to anything extreme as a trade off - but yeah - people can boo unless Randle would like to sit down with the MSG crowd and listen to their polite feedback...

The Knicks went 0-2 without Julius Randle and wouldn't even have not even 5 wins without Julius Randle this year.

What was awesome, was that after he gave the thumbs down? While @ the FT line? His true supporters and real MSG faithful began to chant MVP MVP MVP for him.

I like Julius Randle a lot, but everyone gets booed in New York. Every big time player has felt it without exception. And let's be real, Julius Randle has not played well and has been a turnover machine down the stretch of games all year. He is pressing. This thumbs down routine would have gone over much worse after he missed that free throw down the stretch if Barrett didn't make that bank.

I am supportive of Randle and I think he will start knocking down his 3s at some point, but the guy needs to come out agressive and energetic at the start of games so we don't get caught our like last night. He is versatile enough to do more when his outside shot is not falling.

Yes. Getting booed by a couple of fans in front of his son bothered him. And good. It shows me that he's human. And that he cares.

But it was also awesome to see TRUE NYK fans as MSG's faithful come to his support and have his back while chanting MVP, MVP, MVP; after seeing how a handful of boo birds were attacking him. MSG had his back last night and he's going to get a ROARING ovation vs. San Antonio on Monday from MSGs true faithful.
