Mitch Turner RJ Grimes Fox
Noel Taj/Semanic Cam IQ Rose
What is the Fox infatuation. His defensive rating is almost as bad as Kemba's - 3rd worst in the league to Kemba's 2nd worst in the league.
He shoots high volume, 41% from the field, 24% from 3. His only upside is that he is fast. I don't understand the interest in Fox.

Barnes/Bagley/Fox for Burks/Noel/Randle/Kemba works moneywise.
Knick get the uptempo PG who can attack the rim and we can surround him with our nice crop of young wings RJ/Grimes/IQ/Reddish. Bagley/Obi can split the minutes at the 4 with Mitch/Taj/Simms at the 5. Barnes is a salary dump and will have to beat out the other guys for minutes.
Kings would likely want some draft comp as well and I might entertain that. They get bigger and can finally play some defense which Burks/Noel/Jules will really help with.
The question is what are the better offers out there for Fox and friends?

He fits the timeline, possesses an exceptional trait (fast), can create and penetrate, would pick up the pace since we are dead last... Thibs likes penetrating PGs with some size. Rose could be a perfect mentor for him.
Also, when you look around to who's available that isn't too costly, fits the age timeline and still have growth potential - the list is not very long. Brunson is one that fits that criteria.
Other wild card guy I would keep tabs on is A.Simons as he seems to be progressing and the Blazers seem tied to winning around Lillard despite his age and injuries.

bang... and Dame is an ankle turn from becoming Kemba. Sure he can drop 40 any might and shoot 10-15 from 3 but cant guard his mom and will need a week to recover from that game

Turner is solid but injured and not sure how he would fit next to Mitch. I suggested J. Collins if we landed Fox because they are both running/uptempo players and I think we need to pick up the pace.
Yah, if Fox in in the line up il go all in on John collins. Maybe Obi, Evan and 2 1st tounders wont get the hawks attention. What package will make them trade Collins to the knicks?

We likely still won't move him, which will be problematic because he seems to dislike Fournier (seems the feelings mutual), Kemba AND Thibs- good luck on team chemistry when your team leader has issues with their coach and fellow starters

Nothing. The Hawks are looking to build a contender and looking at Ben Simmons and the like
Chandler@ 2/4/2022 1:58 PM
Many of us remember Jamal Crawford. love him or hate him he would hit clutch shots (at least that's my memory, i don't have stats). Robert Horry was another Mario Elie. Paul Pierce though i hate to admit that
We need those kind of killers. DOesn't mean bullies. Means guys who step up.
ANyone have a sense on Fox whether he flourishes or wilts under pressure?
My guess is Sac wants to make a move but is still keeping out hope on Simmons. ANd frankly if they're interested in Simmons it means they're willing to accept flawed characters, so Randle should be the runner up

Depends on the reason - if Thibs was finally holding Randle accountable and that was responsible for the rift with Randle then the other players may appreciate Thibs effort. If it was something else then who knows... maybe the rest of the players have issues with the "team leader?"

Collins is the type of athlete we need but he makes Al Harrington and JR Smith look like heady players.

I can’t take many more seasons without having a starting calibre point guard- it’s like the infinite quest for Knicks fans! I’d take a risk on Fox whatever his flaws, just so we can focus on other problems!

Buzzkill is look at his contract…….. That said we trade one wildcat for another? If Johny Bryant digs this kid and can do that Dame/Spider thing with him I can hold out hope. Fox has a certain John Wall (another hyped wildcat)vibe to him. Good guys. Just going to fast for the game.
And why do we think Duke has the monopoly on over rated guys?
smackeddog@ 2/4/2022 4:47 PM
Think the second play is him dunking on Randle

Alan Hahn seems to be pouring cold water over this on FB, seems to be hinting at Brunson being more what we’re aiming for (sending out Mitch plus more)

Yeah, Fox is interesting. There is an old saying in the NBA, “never trade big for small.” But Fox would give something we have not had in probably 20 years - a good young athletic PG. I think Thibbs can get Fox’s defense up to a decent level. You trade Fox for Randle, and it solves the PG problem, and it moves Toppin into the starting lineup. Toppin is not on Randle’s level yet, but I believe with minutes and another summer of training, he could turn into a 20 pt, 10 rb type player. Plus, moving Randle allows you to give Reddish some minutes at PF as a small ball 4. We still would need to move Kemba, and I would trade Burks to the first team that offered a high 2nd round pick. It is a risky move as we would be trading big for small but I think it could be successful.

I think you can get Brunson for IQ and pick. Gives Dallas some more time before maxing a guy out.

I don’t like that either. IQ is a good player and a draft pick. If they can pull the miracle and get the cap space they can take that risk to get him in FA

When asked if he”s disappointed not making the AS team reserves, Randle - ‘Nah’
I’m really done with it this clown. He needs to take some ownership of his own bad play, poor effort and our teams lack of winning. What a moron
