Don't get me wrong RJ and star PG Brunson is great! Never seen this coming

However I maintain another piece is missing
What ? that piece is ? DJ doesn't Know. Optimism is high this summer after a HORRIBLE NYK Draft

In ending I'm still not sure if NYK Led Jalen Brunson and RJ is going to scare the NBA East
BUT at least the NYK finally has a legit star PG after Decades of NO PG

We just have to do it at the right place. We've seen our cross-town 'rivals' try to rush things 2X already and we all know how that worked out.

I mean, it resulted in a lot more playoff appearances and when it’s all said and done, I’d guess the Nets end up with more draft picks than us to go with a better roster. For all their drama, I’d trade my roster straight up for theirs any day.

We are more likely to sign Tom Hanks (CAA) than a top 20 player.

Yeah, but I think even Nets fans would admit it was massive failure. It's one thing to go to the playoffs with no massive expectations. It's another thing to go in as 'contenders' and fail in epic fashion. As far the picks and roster, it will probably go be one of the other. They'll eclipse in picks, but the roster will suffer for a few years. Or, they'll invest in the roster and cannibalize their future while doing so.

Year one KD was out. Year two they took it to the eventual champs all they could muster with beat up Harden and No Vax Kyrie. This year its a mess and going the wrong way. Want to know what net fans feel like? Ask them instead of speaking for them. Are there any nets fans? Dudes like us? What are those varied opinons.

I've been on their forums and couple of my most annoying buddies phuck with the Nets. It's suicide watch hahaha just joking. There are deep, lingering regrets about ever hooking up with World B Flat though.

“I promise Knicks fans that they won’t be disappointed in Jalen,” Derek Harper said. “He’s flat-out one of the better young point guards in this league. He’s not one of these guys that’s going to get $100 million and not continue to work at his craft and reach a different height.”

Harper calls the Maverick games and has watched Brunson up close for four years. Harper says Brunson might actually outplay his deal by the time it is over. That is high praise

He’s saying that because Brunson has improved every year he’s been in the league.

My fear is that NY fans and the NY media do what they do.
Which is have ridiculous expectations. This kid is good but if fans are expecting this kid to save the Knicks and win the East, they will be disappointed. Knicks now have a solid PG but they still need another star besides Randle. The challenge of winning a round will still be tough when looking at how each East team has improved. However, it will be great to have one of the better PG contributors from 21/22. And not a large question mark.

The Nets have the biggest trade asset in NBA trade history. (Durant) The return will keep them competitive for years. Agree that they failed reaching their goal of winning a chip. But they will not exactly be the Kings the next few years nor will they be unable to compete with the Knicks.

As I have mentioned before, Brunson likes the ball in his hands. A lot. One of my biggest apprehensions in seeing his fit with Randle and RJ. Hope Knick fans have watched him play in Dallas and are not expecting Chris Paul. Admit that some of his playoff games have me thinking he can surprise me and be that but watching him through out the year have me believing he is a better Ray Felton that holds the ball more. Hoping that, with his talked about work ethic, he may become a version of the former.

Quite frankly, I think this is a super key point and inflection point for the Knicks and those players. Benefits all around

It’s the only thing making me pause. Randle and Barrett will need to change how they play the game.

Brunson/IQ/Grimes/Toppin/Hart seem to be built for each other on offense. I mean you could just roll McBride in for Brunson and I think the second unit beats the first all day.
