Win Record?
No playoffs, play-in, straight into playoffs, seed?
Any player movement predictions?
Which players will stand out this year?
Opening day starting lineup? And who is out of rotation if no trades before start of season?
I'm going for 42 wins and #8 seed in east. It'll be brutal in the East but I think Miami waivers just a bit, they got 36 going on 37yo pudgy PG and if Butler has to play time at PF, things will get rough. Think Bulls won't do as well as last year too.
IQ, Rose will all get 6th Man of Year votes. Brunson, Hart will get MIP votes.
Brunson, Grimes, RJ, Randle, Mitch start.
There will be a trade before Feb, Fournier gets moved.
I’ll take the optimistic approach this year.
45-37, 6th seed. I’ll even buy into the shock the world narrative. We make it to the second round of the playoffs.
Julius makes the all star team. He’s back to being more like-able. RJ gets snubbed even though he deserves it. Brunson averages 18-8.
Boom!
I think this is a transition year. We have depth and youth but the starting unit needs better talent. I think Randle will try and dominate the ball again and RJ will also do the same. Brunson needs to take control, but the coach again will fail to do what he needs to do with Randle and defining his role. The starting unit is too slow and will not win games against young teams that run....again. The second unit will again be the engine for this team and the most fun to watch.
I'm going 38 wins (38-44) and the fringes of the 10th spot in the play in.
I also think they need to make a trade at the deadline but have shown that they will not pull the trigger on a lopsided deal. If they an make a trade and fx the starting unit, I change my win total to 46 (46-36) and the 7th spot in the play in

I'm cool with Julius making the All Star team of that means the Knicks can immediately trade him and get a pick return.
Win Record?
41-41No playoffs, play-in, straight into playoffs, seed? 10th seed play-in
Any player movement predictions? Obi & Fournier
Which players will stand out this year? RJ will be in the conversation for All-Star reserve
Opening day starting lineup? And who is out of rotation if no trades before start of season? Brunson, Fournier, RJ, Randle, Robinson and Reddish is out of the rotation
Win-Loss47-35. I was about to reverse that to 35-47, but I think many other teams will tank early.
1) I think the Knicks offense needs work. This is the biggest risk is the eFG of the starting lineup. They have too many shooters and not enough role players.
2) Their defense looks like it may have the same weaknesses at the Kemba defense. Brunson may be better than Kemba, but I am not really feeling strong on the Brunson/Fournier backcourt and its ability to stay in front of their opponent.
3) That said, I think a lot of teams are going to forfeit early this season in order to jockey for position in the 2023 draft. I think this means that the Knicks pick up 5 or 6 free wins. So, assume they are 41-41 in a normal year, I think they get a few extra gimmies this year.
Playoffs
I think they are 8th seed. I think the field is split pretty heavily between competitors and tankers.
Player Movement
Nothing special. Might see a consolidation move at SG. That really SHOULD happen, but it is unclear that it will - whether there are willing trade partners.
Standout Players
Quickley is in the running for 6MOY.
Randle makes All Defense second team.
Brunson makes All-Star Team as an alternate.
Opening Day Lineup
This is the only place I am really hanging my ass. I think Reddish opens eyes at camp. I think the Knicks see the need to put a big body at the 2 next to Brunson and Reddish gets a chance to fill in that lineup. If this lineup works and they bring a blue collar attitude to the Court, they can surprise people.
1st Unit - Brunson/Barrett/Reddish/Randle/Robinson
2nd Unit - Rose/Quick/Fournier/Toppin/Hart
McBride/Grimes/Sims
Not on the list but I see Thibs getting fired midseason at 50/50. I don't think a .500 record or play-in is going to cut it.
I am more hopeful than this actually but I will say a .500ish team seeded around 7 or 8. Barring the awful, I just can't see the team going backwards and suspect there will be a significant step forward. Nonetheless, the cries to trade Randle/Fournier/fire Thibs/Tank will be in play the first time we give up a lead.
43 wins and we make the playoffs. However, I also see a 50/50 chance Randle is traded at deadline if we are not playing .500 ball, and we will then go into full tank mode after the All-Star break; however, since our young guys are better than some starters, we will win again, miss out on a high lottery pick (again), and pick 13 or 14 in the draft. Season could go either way but we should get to my 43 win prediction if Rose stays relatively healthy and Brunson plays well.
Win Record? 43-39
No playoffs, play-in, straight into playoffs, seed?
9th seed and make the play inAny player movement predictions? Randle
Which players will stand out this year? RJ will be in the conversation for All-Star reserve but not make it
Opening day starting lineup? And who is out of rotation if no trades before start of season? Brunson, Fournier, RJ, Randle, Robinson
The Knicks will start around 9-11 in their first 20 games but the Randle/Toppin situation will come to a head. Randle will play better then last season - but still display the frustrating behaviors and fans will not relent. For the most part Randle will be a good teammate but it will be clear that he needs less minutes and less ball domination. Randle gets moved before the deadline with a record of 26-30 and the team goes on a 17-9 run to close out the season. We lose in 1st round of playoffs though due to low seeding and lack of talent.
40 wins, plus or minus 3. Maybe we sneak into the playoffs through the play in as the eventual 8th seed and the Celtics mop the floor with us either 4-0 or 4-1.
Likliest candidates to get moved - Obi, Cam.
I think Brunson stands out as better than expected. Hart wows and IQ takes the next step.
I'm worried that RJ takes a major step towards being a massive disappointment. (hanging my ass on that one)
Starting line up - no real surprises - Brunson, Fournier, RJ, Randle and Mitchell.
It's going to be tough to get minutes for Cam & Obi. Your bench is Rose, Grimes and Hart.
48 wins, 5th seed, first round playoff loss
Julius will have a good year pissing everyone off and I will enjoy that as the wins add up
49-33 shock the world. I am banking on Thibs pushing the right buttons, and JR bouncing back (ass is hung out here). i see Julous an Jalen having synergies (e.g., Julius likes to throw it in the corner and Jalen is very efficient from there)
If Grimes takes the next step EF is gone. I am hoping Cam can play some 3 but if he can't contribute there he's a goner
If team implodes Randle is a goner under the change of scenery meme
I think we're better. We're in the unfamiliar state where arguably almost all of our players are young and ascending.
Boston is in disarray. Nets are a train wreck and will have injuries. Not hoping for it (actually one of my favorite players) but something seemed up with Bam in Miami, and as others have noted lineup has issues. questions galore for other teams just as there are for ours but i'm taking the optimistic route for us, and the pessimistic for them
41-41....We have improved but so has others in the east. Thibs will have this team competing every night like its game 7 which will allow us to grab some games we may not be favored to win.
48 wins/ 6th seed
Player movement: Fournier at the deadline.
Stand out players: IQ and RJ
Starting line up Opening Night: Brunson/Fournier/RJ/Randle/Mitch
Starting line up Mid Season: Brunson/IQ/RJ/Randle/Mitch
Out of the rotation: Cam/Deuce/Sims
My wishful prediction - we clear room for Cam to get some regular minutes midyear, get steady production from him at the 3 to earn a new contract.
I have the Knicks winning around 28-34. There will be trades, Randle, Fournier.

If Randle is trash, we can totally be way lower than that. I am just wearing my orange and blue colored glasses and thinking he’ll play better. He has to, otherwise f’ him.

Honestly I think RJ needs to move to the second unit for a 3 and D guy (que Reddish to step up) but we all know that will never happen. Coach also needs to tell Randle to play hard on both sides of the ball then I’ll sub you out but again….
