Knicks · IQ is really good (page 8)

I don't know why others view IQ as a SG.

Gust aside I dont anyone does. You are spot on with the above but SG is the only path to IQ starting. I have no idea where IQ's mind is with this. Would IQ take a good payday and play the role of 6th man, backup PG, and spot starter? If so GREAT. If not there's another path where we move him SG, play him next to Brunson and use RJ/Grimes to upgrade SF.

Would you move RJ/Grimes for OG? Ingram? Lets say it's OG straight up. I think Toronto wins that trade as Grimes is a really good prospect and RJ goes to Toronto. We would look like
Brunson/IQ/OG/Randle/Mitch with McBride/JHart/IHart off the bench as your main 8.

Does that make us better? FO has some really tough choices ahead but we are at least (finally) dealing from a position of talent. This FO is really "value" focused.

Just like Josh Hart making sense with his fit on team and with Thibs, I think OG is within that same caliber of vibing both with team and coach but with an obviously different spin.

Knicks have flipped the proverbial switch: For me it's gotta be readily obvious that players can now see the benefit of being within the Knicks systems. LOTS of guys have been given a chance and REALLY accelerated and it has helped their career and that means contract $$$ too. Like nearly that whole team or at least key players. Knowing that, now players on opposing teams can start to see the Knicks as a destination and push for it IF they can't get it from their own team. Coaching and FO has created that environment, players have participated and it has worked.

RJ/OG swap makes too much sense if OG ain't getting the contract and role he wants. Same with Jaylen Brown.

I have a scenario in my head where Knicks FO goes after James Harden that could make sense from a pursuit perspective. Harden has all the leverage in the world to pick where he wants to play next season and how long and how much his contract is because of Houston's cap space and his affinity for that team.

Brunson was a second round pick on a 4 year deal that paid him 6mm.
quick will have made 10mil by the 4th year.

Brunson would have signed a 55 mil deal if presented. Dallas messed that up.
Jalen walked with no restrictions, Dallas could not match and keep him.
Knicks can when Quick is free.
Brunson has a player option at the end of his 3rd year. He is on a very friendly declining contract that pays him just under 25mm then.
So, we could extend.

Another complete takeover by Quickley tonight. He was in total control of this game. He’s earning the massive contract and seems like a real building block.

Not for nothing but the 2020 redraft after 3 years of play is gonna be wild.

1. Anthony Edwards
2. Hali?
3. Ball?
4. IQ?

Have to lump bane and Maxey in there but that’s the top 6 in some order I think.

All guards. I suppose Edwards is the #1 still but taking defense into account are any of the others clearly above IQ?

Takes some of the sting out of Obi 😐

Where's NYKMentality when you need him. Tell these fools why IQ is the second coming of Gary Payton, combined with Wade and a smidge of Gilbert Arenas Bane? I've got Big Toes with better measurements than his wingspan! Maxey? A leech siphoning Embiid's energy! Ball? Look at his brother! An injury waiting to happen. Hali? A wannabe All Star! IQ is that guy. You can't compare a bunch of Duralast flashlights to a star!

I’d rather take IQ over Halliburton going forward. He’s the better all around player. Halliburton is looking like a stats guy and not a guy who gets Ws

I thought the bold was a well thought out accurate representation of what we are seeing with IQ... also I think NYKMentality might be grounded

If it’s for OG it’s a 3 team trade where we move RJ. Grimes is not necessary at all lol

Get me 4 year 20-22 mil per descending and give OBI 10 mil per

Really struggling to determine my breaking point. Obviously IQ is not getting maxed out, but $20m per? Definitely. $25m? Still do it. $30m? Hesitating, but not a firm no...that's RJ money, and IQ definitely making a strong case in the head-to-head comparison.

I'll be shocked if Obi resigns...love him, but I'm just not seeing Knicks offering him a competitive contract, nor Obi turning down a better opportunity RE: playing time and focus. I'd sign on for $40m-50m / 4 years.
