I guess some guys, for any number of reasons, despite size and the sweetest looking stroke, will not pan out as regular NBA rotation players.

I agree with a lot here about Cam, but we should just let him go - either through trade or release and give him a chance elsewhere.

And increasingly, I want us to take all three draft picks coming to us (assuming Dallas & Wizards convey) and pick three guys and give them a shot on the roster to see if they can turn into IQs, Grimes, McBrides or better versions.

Knox has an eFG of .599 and is shooting 38% from 3 in 15 mins per game for the worst team in the league. But he is getting minutes and those minutes are productive. Honestly, the opportunity in Detroit is a good stepping stone for him.

i wouldn't read a lot into this. He's getting a lot of garbage time where defense is trying to avoid fouls and not locking down

that said, i wish him the best.

I kinda took it at face value. Thibs was playing Cam at the time, giving him his chance. Cam bitched that he wasn't being used right(like he did in Atlanta) and bitched about the coach. Coach said Ok, fuck you.

Don't think it's any deeper than that, unless his bitching was a final straw in a long line of bitching....

Same.

In my mind when that juncture point happens, usually a decision is made at the FO level with coaching staff involved: is it worthwhile to keep this guy or just move on? Seems like they moved on and have been looking for trades.

Unfortunate, it’s an exact repeat of what happened in ALT

But it is telling this player's particular set of problems may be self inflicted.

Cam on a DSJr level path but with more talent and less back problems or whatnot.

Man, the guy is so smooth too

Haha I was going to say literally the exact thing. And I disagree with the posts about coaching. I have to imagine he's coached all the time in practice. the issue is it's not translating on the court at game time. He's inconsistent and when he's bad he's very bad.

I have nothing against him but the facts are the team is playing better without him. I thought he would add size at the wing and some shooting but it didn't translate to wins

I mean, yeah. On Detroit, the garbage time starts in the second quarter. But he is getting 15 mins a game there and seems to be getting his footing.
