Great season. A lot to build on. Brunson is a superstar.
On the low end I would move Toppin and replace him in the rotation with a high level 3&D guy. Maybe Nets would like him and will give us Finney-smith or O’Neale. Someone along those lines. On the more extreme end I would considering moving Barrett, Toppin and picks for LaVine. Get a true #2 who is an elite shooter. Either way the moral of the story is to add shooting without hurting the defense. LaVine isn’t known as a defender but he’s proven to be average when engaged. Average is fine because it doesn’t hurt us. Shooting and quality shot creation is needed.
I want a new wrinkle in our offense. I want Brunson -Randle PnR
I also want everyone to shoot a gazelleon 3 pointers over the summer, everyone except for Mitch, he needs to shoot free throws.
My plan is to get Christopher Lloyd and Michael J Fox and JVG’s Civic… and I’ll get them to combine Josh Hart and EF into one player
We need a defender at the forward spot, preferably through the draft or UDFA. It doesn't have to be OG, who probably doesn't help us win this series anyway. But it's a glaring weakness in their defensive profile. We also need more guys who can create off the dribble. Maybe IQ and Grimes get there consistently, but it's a weakness. We also need to diversify our offensive schemes. Iso is OK, but the team gets to stagnant and becomes easy to key in on. Lastly, I'd like to see them try out Randle at the five more. Hopefully this boosts RJ into the next season. Grimes and IQ were trash, but the experience is invaluable. I can't remember the last time I felt this confident about team's future. Now Leon and Brock need to get to work.

Mikal Bridges maybe should be top target.
Try to find our Butler- our older vet with something left in the tank that can help during the season and then the playoffs when things slow and the mind struggles with the weight of the moment.

First, decline Rose's option to save money. If he's amenable, sign him to a very minimum contract to keep the locker room strong and throw the fans a bone during blowouts.
Second, resign Hart to a reasonable deal. Hopefully he agrees to a team friendly contract to stay next to his idol Jalen Brunson.
Third, try to extend Obi and IQ. Those two might want to test RFA next season and land bigger contracts with more prominent roles. Maybe negotiate 4 year deals with the last year as a player option. Both of them are one catastrophic injury away from a "could of, should of" life. Hopefully they remember Nerlens Noel's story.
Doing those 3 (or 4) moves guarantees franchise stability over the next few.seasons.
Asset wise the Knicks have Fournier's contract to pair with the MLE and draft picks I'm not 100% sold on Jericho Sims as the 3rd string center and have no idea what Keels and Roby have to offer going forward. Knicks have been solid using the summer league to develop young guys, so maybe those 3 guys get featured and the organization can have a better idea of what they have.
I'm kinda iffy of packaging Fournier with draft picks for an upgrade. It seems like most teams that make all in deals (Phoenix Atlanta Minnesota) later end up regretting it. I don't think LaVine gets moved but maybe Beal or Lillard hit the market because their teams are sorely in need of a reset. KAT is interesting as well. A lot of the effort complaints about him mirror those of Wiggins who became the second best guy on a championship squad. Maybe KAT follows the same path. It just seems like on a risk/ reward basis get contracts + draft picks + prospects deals often fall apart before the first pick converts. I don't see Fournier having much trade value, maybe whoever nabs Wembanyama would trade a couple of future second round picks and a trade exemption to have a veteran French presence.
So in brief, run it back again. The team still has plenty of room for internal improvement. If RJ IQ Grimes and Obi can continue their improvement, Knicks should be in line for a top 4 record in the East next season.

How much trade value does Randle have? I’m not sure but the first offer that’s halfway decent I would jump on.

Careful what you ask for ? What if you get a French bald slow guard who can't shoot and plays no defense ? Worst of both and not the best
What I want to see is Brunson as team leader after the vacation to rest body and soul, gets his college teammate Hart, plus RJ and whoever else wants to workout together, united on working on shooting from outside and swinging the ball so they can spread the floor. Get RJ and Hart elite at shooting the 3. Get Mitch average at the FT line and at setting picks. The improvement of RJ and Hart shooting the 3 to 38pct or better would change the offense. Plus get a reserve PG to back up Brunson who can shoot and okay D. If it's Rokas great if not use his rights in a trade to get someone in a trade that can do that. Should be fun offseason. I expect the team to be involved in lots of rumors. But Leon is more conservative and will make moves if the deal is team friendly asset wise

Honestly, Knicks fans said the same thing about Eddy Curry. Two years after we traded him, he got a ring with Miami.

Why limit yourself like that?
I want a top 2 reserve who can shoot 40% from 3 as a spot starter and top ten in the league in fg% defense. Sadly, players like that are probably out of reach.
