Spurs, doing their guy a solid

Stevens was solid for Cleveland last year and was surprised they didnt use him in playoffs more as they did well when he started during the year. He's a good defender and goes to the basket well. He lacks consistency in the three point shot but is one of those guys that makes your team better when on the floor. Got to see alot of him living in Ohio. Hope he gets picked up by another team.

He would be a decent backup PF here.

Poku?

I mean, it looks like a deal for one of Poku or Garuba could be had.

Look OKC has elite rookies and youngsters and many more picks to come. Curse of having too many picks and prospects is you can't play them all. OKC and a few others to some degree will have to shed former first rounders soon. Knicks are patient and other teams have already filled up their rosters. Our team might be able to benefit.
Alpha1971 @ 7/19/2023 8:27 PM
OKC waives or makes James Robinson Earl available or Poku do you want them ? Earl is a Villanova alum. Hart, Brunson, DD, and Earl ?
LivingLegend @ 7/20/2023 10:15 AM
Always like A-Wiggins body type as a wing defender - only 24 - but probably no room here.

Don’t think they cut I-Joe - would assume Ty-Ty goes before Joe.

K-Willams is older - wonder if he is moved or cut — still an interesting player.

EwingsGlass @ 7/20/2023 10:37 AM
OKC waived Gay.

If we're going to sign a dinosaur for veteran mentorship, I rather give that gig to Taj Gibson.

OKC is going to have to do something with all those picks - unless they keep punting them down the road

I'm not a cap expert but it seems to me that the excess of picks can/should be used on support pieces. Everyone assumes they are looking for a star trade. Maybe SGA, Giddy, and Chet are their "stars" and they want to use the picks to add high-level role players that fit. Maybe OG?? IDK. It going to be interesting to see how it plays out. They have an embarrassment of riches. Can that be a problem? I really don't know.

They might pull a "Rockets" and instead seek tough minded vets / winners to place around their young stars when the time is right. I think Rockets were a little early to do that, but I think adding guys of the cloth of FVV and Dillon Brooks (without the noise) to OKC could make them close to a upper echelon playoff team.

Locked on Knicks, a podcast some of you maybe aware of, discussed yesterday the hosts opinion that PJ Washington would be a good get. In a sign and trade for Evan and some seconds ( although maybe a first may be needed ). Upon hearing his reasoning sounded good for the team. Plus adding him is adding a valuable player, more so then Evan with his salary slot to be used in a future trade or to make Heart available to trade it PJ can play the 5. Doubt the front office would do it but it could be a great pick up

I can’t disagree except to ask why Washington would accept a backup role to Randle?

First the money. Second he can potentially be back up to Mitch and Randall and get minutes that way. It's up to him to beat out Heart whose contract is up next season. Plus he can be told be patient we can trade him later with his contract set

Washington is 6’7. The chances of Thibs giving him mins at center when he can sub I-Hart or Sims seem slim

A 6'7 center is equivalent to a 6'4" PF in Hart. But I agree. Slow news period and we have an obvious whole in the roster, just spit balling.

Yeah but that would be a popular Knicks jersey in Chelsea
