We as a country and humanity are not heading in a good direction and it is at the complete willingness of our neighbors and fellow Americans who don't give a fuck and will walk away with some extra cash in pocket.

There is not enough of a moral line with some people.

My son has told me about the boy in his high school who identifies as a cat and the neighbouring school that has converted one of the handicapped toilets into a litter box.

Are you still living in China?

No, I'm back in the States for the first time in 4 years. Coviid really sucked, lol. My boy is so tall now that I could hardly recognize him until he was 20 feet away. For all you patriots, if you ever doubt America, just go to a supermarket- they are so awesome.

I'm sure China is a interesting place to stay, but there's no place like home. About that supermarket part...the prices must be jarring. And yes, those bottle and cans are smaller than they used to be.

Fall for the con, get burned by the con. He is a well spoken political actor who delivers his lines nicely. After you get past that almost transparently thin layer, he has nothing to offer.

Do your homework this time Briggs so that you don't have to get burned by your own question of "What have we got to lose?"

I'll admit it, I did not know much about him prior to last night other than his polling was interesting

man martin, you had him pegged from the jump, pegged like Trump with a Russian whore

Admittedly, I should be more helpful. But I am tired and it is a lot of work. I do swim in the political arena (not actively so but definitely firmly there) and keep up with this stuff day in and day out and all year around.

Last night's performance from the entire stage was breath-taking. Every member on that stage said they would support Trump if he is both convicted and the nominee for their party. Trump, the guy who mostly likely wanted Pence hung, allegedly stole classified documents by the bathroom full, who allegedly and mostly likely orchestrated the wiping of video camera surveillance of said stolen classified material, just before cunningly (?!?!) ordering the pool be emptied into the IT server closet? The guy who had RAPE definitively memorialized in whatever motion by a Federal Judge? The guy who lead the hell-fire on our Capital and had Senators and Congress people shitting their pants as they hid anywhere they could so they wouldn't get killed/maimed/whatever?

That's the guy every Republican on stage said they would support without blinking.

Sleepy Joe Brandon is light years ahead of those crass, vile morons as both a human and caregiver to our nation. These choices shouldn't be too hard to see.

Don't think Christie and Hutchenson agreed. Note that the others are all likely pandering for cabinet or VP slots. Politicans pretty much suck in more ways than one.

On a separate note, I've seen Vivek on CNBC interviews prior to this candidacy. Climate change denier with little substance and no governing, global foreign affairs etc... experience. Always thought of him as another self aggrendizing flim flam artist.

You are right. Christie did a half wave and Hutchenson did not raise hand. Christie probably couldn't lift his arm up high enough and fast enough because of the near death COVID experience he went through from when Trump purposely breathed on him during that 4-hour closed and close room debate prep. Mutherfucker nearly and quite possibly purposely killed Christie but Chris is not enthusiastic enough to not want that person to be his representative? lol

It seems like Christie was waving his hand up to speak. He kinda demolishes Trump when he speaks afterward. But this brings up another question:Where would Christie land on the scale of history of he were to be elected. I'd say Taft would still remain the the most obese president, but would Christie rank #2?

Rather he not, as he most likely will only touch on how well spoken he comes across &/or agreeing with trash culture war anti woke ideals since actual quality policy is lacking.

BRIGGS isn't responsible for this creep. Sometimes you form an opinion too soon before things go off the rail (or as martin put it, you fall for the con). But after hearing Vivek speak for the first time last night, I want to revisit one statement from the original post:

BRIGGS wrote:Hes republican but really if you listen to him hes centric and thats what the US needs

I didn't hear one thing last night from Vivek that could be confused as centric. He even seemed to be going too far for the other republicans on the stage. What positions of his did you think were more moderate leaning? Did he just reverse course on the topics?

Yeah he came across terrible last night. Arrogant maybe even childish self-aggrandizing. I saw a much different person on videos that I watched. Honestly no one told me what I wanted to hear last night. I dont need to vote---no one to vote for

In February 2019, it was announced that Haley had been nominated to the board of directors of Boeing. She was elected at the annual shareholder meeting on April 29.[164][165] Critics have alleged that the position at Boeing may have been offered to Haley due to favorable official actions she took with regard to Boeing while in office in South Carolina.[166] Boeing board members earn "a minimum annual compensation of $315,000 as of 2017, the most recent figures available in a regulatory filing"

Kind of funny that she got so upset when Vivek said she was angling for a spot at Northrop Grumman.

For real, no place like home. 22 years ago a can of coke was 2.5 yuan- now it's 2.5 yuan. Prices for a lot of other things have gone up, especially buying a house, but the level of inflation in the States is unreal.

Just curious, what part of his platform do you like?

Here's some directly from his campaign website....

-Elimination of the FBI
-Raise voting age to 25 - unless you are in the military
-Elimination of the Nuclear Regulatory commission
-Elimination of the Deparment of Education
-Promotion of Fossil Fuel usage
-Abandon Ukraine
-Promote capitalism as a tool to eliminate poverty
-Eliminate the IRS
-Elimination of greenor climate change standards (i.e. clean air act, carbon emmissions etc)
-Eliminate Federal Government unions
-Eliminate civil servics protections
-Eliminate remote work
-Eiminate 75% of federal jobs in DC and move them elsewhere
-Promote a higher level of drilling, fracking and burning coal
-Deploy the military at the southern boarder
-Eliminate affirmative action
-Make political expression (i.e. January 6th) a civil right

IMO....he seems to want an Executive Branch authoritarian method to initiate a wrecking ball type anarchy approach but has little substance as to the impacts and how this would all work without complete anarchy. Also pretty much ignoring how 3 branch constitutional republic government works.

Trunp tried to overthrown democracy which we all witnessed live, and is a convicted rapist. Vivek not only was the first to raise his hand saying that he would support Trump (if convicted) to run for President. He requested that all his charges be dropped immediately. And that Trump was the best President in the 21st century. Yet he is suppose to be on stage to run against Trump to get the nominee.

He is already compromised from any of the ideals he is trying to sell you of being a self made outsider who isn't tainted by the corruption of politics. Other than continued tax breaks for the rich and culture war attacks that won't effect their bottom lines. There is nothing of substance any of these GOP members have to offer.

He has actually been laying out a plan of action. Which the cronies don’t do. The other presidential candidates want things to remain the same business as usual and continue to take advantage of our governmental systems for their benefits. You could see how agitated they got about Ukraine and defensive. When the truth is majority of the Americans want nothing to do with Ukraine.

People say I don’t trust him for Soros connection, the Democrats are in bed with Soros for like my life time. For the Republicans Trump did business with Soros in the past. Vevek actually sued the WEF.

We need a man of the people, get rid of the Rinos all of them. We need term limits on everyone. We are some 30-35 Trillion in debt as a nation. Have modern day opium war going on with China. I don’t care if you are Republican or Democrat we need to get together as a nation. It’s going to take an outsider, because the political cronies are set in their ways.

Vivek Ramaswamy has described himself as an “outsider”, accusing rivals for the Republican presidential nomination of being “bought and paid for” by donors and special interests.

But the 38-year-old Ohio-based venture capitalist, whose sharp-elbowed and angry display stood out in the first Republican debate this week, has his own close ties to influential figures from both sides of the political aisle.

Prominent among such connections are Peter Thiel, the co-founder of tech giants PayPal and Palantir and a rightwing megadonor, and Leonard Leo, the activist who has marshaled unprecedented sums in his push to stock federal courts with conservative judges.

Ramaswamy is a Yale Law School friend of JD Vance, the author of the bestselling memoir Hillbilly Elegy who enjoyed success in finance before entering politics. At Yale, Vance and Ramaswamy attended what the New Yorker called an “intimate lunch seminar for select students” that was hosted by Thiel. Last year, backed by Thiel and espousing hard-right Trumpist views, Vance won a US Senate seat in Ohio.

I dont know enough about George Soros as he pertains to politics and how and what he uses his money for.

Know enough that he is a boogie man for the Republican party as a whole.

Someone can help me out here? Why is he relevant in this context?
