Someone tell me about this

2 points in the below.

Second one: why do we think that Leo and his crew wants to "vet" Supreme Court justice nominees? A study on their beliefs or background check to find and establish leverage-able skeletons and relationships?

The United States is literally a country built on immigration and the prosperity that that has brought and the world dominance status came with that shortly after?

martin @ 9/12/2024 3:45 PM
Fair

martin @ 9/12/2024 4:02 PM
Is this right? Anyone bothered by it?

martin @ 9/12/2024 9:01 PM
Epicenter of too much of this country

ToddTT @ 9/12/2024 9:09 PM
At least the family pets won’t be confused or traumatized by this.

So does he mean vote Harris because she's not a racist, rapist, scam artist or does he mean Trump because he's likely to give the least resistance as states trample on abortion rights?

Problem is, and I am not trying to insult anyone, most Trumpers do not know how to read a graph, understand how interest rates are used to curtail inflation or want to hear how well we have managed the economical challenges caused by Covid and billions handed out by Trump administration . Nor would they believe it if you explained it to them. The base is made up of mostly rich self gaining elites or non educated middle and lower class who do not like women or other races. And of course the misguided Christian Nationalists whose interpretation of the Bible comes from Twitter. With some good people sprinkled in who count on others to set their opinions for them.

The US stock market is hitting all time highs:
If it happened during Trump, MAGA would be claiming it was all because of Trump.
Ie. Trump said recently it’s because everyone knows he is going to win.
Unemployment is at all time lows. Biden added an incredible number of jobs.
MAGA will tell you they all went to immigrants and were stolen from African Americans.
Real Estate at all time highs.
MAGA: No one owns a house so who cares.
Small Businesses are doing quite well. Including many blue collar service businesses.
MAGA: Can’t afford a dozen eggs and it’s not because I dropped out of HS.

As much as some of us can’t understand why anyone would vote for Trump, there are millions of them. We must all go to the polls in November.

gradyandrew @ 9/14/2024 12:36 PM
The first question at the debate was on this question and Kamala failed to make any argument of the well supported and documented economic news that you have made so eloquently here. Instead she floated her ideas for a small business economic policies and tax breaks for having kids. I don't think you can blame the framing of the economy on MAGA when Harris refused to defend Joe Bidens record.
gradyandrew @ 9/14/2024 12:41 PM

DAVID MUIR: So let's get started. I want to begin tonight with the issue voters repeatedly say is their number one issue, and that is the economy and the cost of living in this country. Vice President Harris, you and President Trump were elected four years ago and your opponent on the stage here tonight often asks his supporters, are you better off than you were four years ago? When it comes to the economy, do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago?

VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS: So, I was raised as a middle-class kid. And I am actually the only person on this stage who has a plan that is about lifting up the middle class and working people of America. I believe in the ambition, the aspirations, the dreams of the American people. And that is why I imagine and have actually a plan to build what I call an opportunity economy. Because here's the thing. We know that we have a shortage of homes and housing, and the cost of housing is too expensive for far too many people. We know that young families need support to raise their children. And I intend on extending a tax cut for those families of $6,000, which is the largest child tax credit that we have given in a long time. So that those young families can afford to buy a crib, buy a car seat, buy clothes for their children. My passion, one of them, is small businesses. I was actually -- my mother raised my sister and me but there was a woman who helped raise us. We call her our second mother. She was a small business owner. I love our small businesses. My plan is to give a $50,000 tax deduction to start-up small businesses, knowing they are part of the backbone of America's economy. My opponent, on the other hand, his plan is to do what he has done before, which is to provide a tax cut for billionaires and big corporations, which will result in $5 trillion to America's deficit. My opponent has a plan that I call the Trump sales tax, which would be a 20% tax on everyday goods that you rely on to get through the month. Economists have said that Trump's sales tax would actually result for middle-class families in about $4,000 more a year because of his policies and his ideas about what should be the backs of middle-class people paying for tax cuts for billionaires.

gradyandrew @ 9/14/2024 12:55 PM
I felt like this question should have been a slam dunk for Harris " blah blah Covid. Blah blah China closed. Blah blah supply chain. Blah blah inflation. Blah blah job and wage growth. Blah blah current economic indicators." This was a simple story she could tell, instead she dodged it and let Trump frame it.
FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: First of all, I have no sales tax. That's an incorrect statement. She knows that. We're doing tariffs on other countries. Other countries are going to finally, after 75 years, pay us back for all that we've done for the world. And the tariff will be substantial in some cases. I took in billions and billions of dollars, as you know, from China. In fact, they never took the tariff off because it was so much money, they can't. It would totally destroy everything that they've set out to do. They've taken in billions of dollars from China and other places. They've left the tariffs on. When I had it, I had tariffs and yet I had no inflation. Look, we've had a terrible economy because inflation has -- which is really known as a country buster. It breaks up countries. We have inflation like very few people have ever seen before. Probably the worst in our nation's history. We were at 21%. But that's being generous because many things are 50, 60, 70, and 80% higher than they were just a few years ago. This has been a disaster for people, for the middle class, but for every class. On top of that, we have millions of people pouring into our country from prisons and jails, from mental institutions and insane asylums. And they're coming in and they're taking jobs that are occupied right now by African Americans and Hispanics and also unions. Unions are going to be affected very soon. And you see what's happening. You see what's happening with towns throughout the United States. You look at Springfield, Ohio. You look at Aurora in Colorado. They are taking over the towns. They're taking over buildings. They're going in violently. These are the people that she and Biden let into our country. And they're destroying our country. They're dangerous. They're at the highest level of criminality. And we have to get them out. We have to get them out fast. I created one of the greatest economies in the history of our country. I'll do it again and even better.

gradyandrew you have a very strange and hopefully just naive way way of looking at things.

There are 2 dishes in front of you. One looks nice, the other is a steaming pile of dog shit.

Your take on how each looks to you is to mention that Kamala dish of chicken parm doesn’t fully reveal her cooking abilities that she should be taking from the past 3 years of mostly pretty good cooking that she and Biden have been putting forth.

And then you stop there.

Naive at best bro.

I don't really follow the chicken parm analogy.

As I stated on January/ February, the Deutsch Bank case against Trump really bothered me. As per a recent news story:

CNN —

A spokesman for the Manhattan US Attorney’s office apologized following the release of a secretly recorded video that captured him slamming Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s hush money case against Donald Trump as “nonsense” and a “perversion of justice.”

I also wanted to see the debate and was looking forward to it as a way to measure the candidates. Objectively, Kamala could have done a lot better on her answer and objectively Trump gave a better answer. Why call the tariffs a sales tax? If tariffs are bad, why were they left in place?

Trump was unhinged later on and Kamala got a lot stronger as the debate went on. But all of that is kind of secondary. What did you think of Kamala's response? I thought you could have answered it better.

What was Kamala’s only objective during the debates? Did she meet that objective of triggering the dementia diaper wearing dude and make him slur on about cats and dogs and whatnot? Or do you think Kamala was out there to remind people that she is VP today and that means she is very highly involved with the current administration and economic paths?

What person besides you is even paying attention to the answer to the economy question and thinks it has any relevance outside of the cats and dog eating or the perpetual nonsense about tariffs and abortion and how women and young and sensible’ish voters will react?

Let me further illustrate the chicken parm analogy and make it real: if I put a plate of mediocre looking chicken parm in front of you and also a plate of dogshit, would you expect a reasonable response to be “bland looking chicken parm” or “why the fuck are you serving up dog shit?” Cause you seem undecided on this, at best.

You see it as you want. She killed him. That does not mean MAGA illiterates will be swayed away. she call him a disgrace. Only thing that did not happen was he did not do a full Jack Nicolson meltdown aka "A few good men". he lied 31 times. She told 3 fibs. He opens his mouth, he lies or embellishes. I don't love Harris, but he is a total demented shit head at this point. A broken human.
Drump got angrier and angrier and took the bait. What a fucking moron. He had all kind of opportunities but instead took the low road. she got him on the rally size. It was hilarious. he said she was cheating "Like she knew th answers".. She did because she was prepared. He was not.

martin @ 9/14/2024 3:26 PM
Dems are precisely micro targeting a slice vote. This stuff is wild to me. Kamala purposely mentioned something along the same line in debate. Someone knows - or thinks they know - something.

Are you fucking kidding?

Where do I get my chicken parm voucher? That shit is delicious.

I can’t wait to vote. Gonna make a huge bowl of spaghetti. 🍝
