I can't think of anyone else I'd rather have debate Trump because she is so impervious to personal attacks. I think there's already a lot of negative ads about Kamala prepared by the rnc, but I think they would really struggle to find negative things on Michelle.

gradyandrew, you are too kind hearted. Michelle and Obama are enjoying a really nice life right now.

We are about to witness GOT play out live in real life over the next months.

Thanks Martin. You're the man.

I thought it was significant in Obama's tweet he praised Joe but didn't endorse Kamala. There's still a lot of time between now and the convention. If Republican attack ads start hitting Kamala, maybe the convention opens up. I'm not sure how binding the preconvention endorsements are. I'm not really sure why the msm didn't make more of Obama's tweet. It's Kamala's game to play now. It's too late for Michelle to jump in and play the spoiler, but she can still play the saviour.

It was significant in the opposite direction you think: Obama never endorses in the same way you expect above. He did the same for Joe until Biden got the acceptance of the party first. That's how Obama handles his business.

Can't say I'm overjoyed to hear that. I have doubts about Kamala.

I know relatively little about her. She just swept the delegates and inspired a lot of money. That should immediately set off some good flags for everyone. The panic from the other side should give us more confidence.

I think Pelosi has been the Grand master for a very long time for the D's. Thank god. She missed on RGB but only so much you can do.

These are the VP "candidates" that I have heard about. I think Whitmer has recently publicly said she is not interested.

PA Gov. Josh Shapiro: 19 electoral votes
NC Gov. Roy Cooper: 16 electoral votes
AZ Sen. Mark Kelly: 11 electoral votes
MN Gov. Tim Walz: 10 electoral votes

MI Gov. Gretchen Whitmer: 15 electoral votes

For me, the last 2-4 decades have been, in part, a raw numbers reaction in regards to power clutching. It is an inevitability that young (more diverse thinking and voting and socially aware) people are entering the 18+ arena at a double rates as boomers and older are exiting over the last 5-10 years, that rate will multiply eventually. We are at a tipping point, have been at a tipping point, are over the hurdle of the tipping point? I don't know.

Doesn't even matter if this poll is real or not, it's inevitable behind the right voice.

Cooper seems to give off that conservative southern feel.

JD Vance is about to get the call from Trump to do the right thing

That's how disastrous he has been LOL

Not really. He is business type who gets things done. I have met him a few Tims as his AG, Josh Stein who is running for Gov. Really smart dudes who don't get tangled in the weeds of stupidity.
Saw Elvis Costello in 2019 in really small venue that did not have seating, but did have a VIP area was invited to. Roy was hanging out with us and was singing along. Love it if he got nomination and voted in. Good For our state! They Love Shipiro in PA! Witmer would be a good choice but all female ticket might be much.
Shapiro is jewish. We ready for that? black women president, jewish VP? The hate from that will be intense.

Harris has it but the "Coronation" won't happen until the convention but really important that Dem's not fracture thus I doubt anyone makes a run for the nomination. She has 3 weeks to come on out.

I know many have been vocal about wanting a new choice in this election, but I did not expect this level of energy to follow! Especially with how luke-warm even the Democratic party has been with Kamala over the last 3 years. Things are moving very fast (as they need to), but the unity has been impressive.

I do feel bad for Joe with how things seemingly went down from the outside looking in, but choosing to believe the master strategist theories, because why the hell not?

Online attacks have been...weird. The right doesn't like Kamala because of her laugh and because she dated Montel Williams. Curious what form the misogyny will take next in the absence of substance.

Oh wow this is awesome, missed this initially. So glad to read.

Kelly is the hot talk and perhaps a good choice.
I trust the powers that be don't fuck it up.
Trump got romanced by Vance and we all learning he grew up middle class and went to Yale. Them Trump folk don't like the educated. "they think they are better than uneducated".
We do. Sorry, its just how things work.

Trump got romanced by the same $ that had already bought and paid for Vance to become a senator. Thiel, Elon, etc.

the energy is really something coming with young voters as well! This is where things pick up. My kids were very apathetic about voting for Biden. They really did not want to. Not that Trump was a good choice, or RFJjr, but Harris will get an Obama like base and it could keep carrying.

Bloomberg and Obama will come around but they don't want to just hand it to her or give the appearance of it.
As for Trump if he starts to lose? His call to violence could get ugly. Sociopath tendency. This dude is not running for office for the greater good? He likes Air Force one, the power, and wants to play golf. He is lazy and stupid. But he is dangerous. I want nothing than to see him behind bars and pay for the legal issues he is guilty by a jury. Not the made up deep state crap he vomits, but real things.
but, if he sets off his flying monkeys into violence than thats another story. I'd just let him go quietly. Country's health is more important then him.

Mark certainly has my vote, but I'm biased. He is from my home town. I knew him and his twin brother in high school and even hung out with them on occasion. He is life long friends of another close friend of mine. IMO very real, sincere and good person with strong values.

This certainly brings optimism. The issue is that we need younger voters to increase their turnout. It's trending up a bit, but less than 50% of registered voters from 18-24 voted in last Presidential election. This compares to almost 72% at ages 65+.
