Good news, hope we can sign Borrego as well.
VDesai @ 7/2/2025 1:18 PM
What can Brown do for us?
LivingLegend @ 7/2/2025 1:27 PM
It's crazy - if you read most commentary from Knick fans they view Brown as a clear downgrade vs Thibs.

I look at their career records and winning % and Brown 60% regular season winning record vs Thibs 58%. Brown 56% in playoffs vs Thibs 47%.

Brown's % drops <4% regular season vs playoffs. Thibs drops <11% regular season vs playoffs.

Thibs has coached ~1,000 games vs Brown ~750 -- but in terms of playoff games Thibs (103) and Brown (90) - very close. Thibs 13 years HC & Brown 10.

So overall - they have both coached a ton of games and for many years but when you net everything out Brown has won a higher % of regular and playoff games on relatively similar sample sizes. Brown is also 13 years younger and may simply work better with others (more collaboration).

I've never been a Brown fan but maybe I just haven't been paying attention.

I feel like I should be more excited than I am. Looks great on paper!

Two time coach of the year
Nearly .600 career win %
Part of the Popovich coaching tree...

Hoping we can nab Borrego for the staff.

Looking forward to the press conference. Hear Brown's views on the roster, and his plans. Hopefully tailored to this roster.

Some past Knick coaches have tried to fit a square peg in a round hole. Want to see a system that plays to the team's strengths.

Thats what Riley did when he went from "Showtime" with the Lakers to bully ball, suffocating D with the Knicks.

Yes - Borrego seems like he would be a nice add.

Interestingly enough Brown and Borrego both went to Univ. San Diego -- at different times.

Of all the available candidates for this team as currently constructed, Brown checks the most boxes...based on his time in Golden State, and Sac Town, he should have the ability to maximize this team offensively....

Thats the key for me. maximize this team offensively

Because defensively, we are who we are. Offensively, we have room to grow.

The two press conferences I came away the most excited from were Derek Fisher and Jeff Hornacek. I don't trust them anymore.

Whatever you think about Thibs, it's been nice not having to do this for a while.

LivingLegend @ 7/2/2025 1:58 PM
Begley - Knicks have interest in bringing in Shamet —- Knicks have also CHECKED IN ON Ben Simmons but waiting on new coach to be finalized.

Simmons has met with 3 other teams and is expected to make decision soon.

SergioNYK @ 7/2/2025 1:58 PM
Good luck Mike! You're going to need it.
