By the way what a time to get a good Clarkson game. Like I been saying for years, you need to have 1 guy like him because they can win you a game at any time. They will also shoot you out of a few games so the coach has to know when to sit him and I trust Mike Brown.
Dragon @ 12/17/2025 4:43 AM
It seems Clarkson needs to play more minutes to get in rythem, the more he playes the better he is..... and that is a difficult thing to achive if you are coming of the bench
Alpha1971 @ 12/17/2025 6:39 AM
Leon Rose " Let the bidding begin for Kolek and Robinson, must take Yabu " We won without Deuce and Shamet and no contributions from their mle. During trade period all we have to do is get a guy like Kevin Love, maybe in a buyout.

So exciting to see Kolek emerge, that's huge for us. His scrappyness, speed and penetration is not something any other guard brings off the bench.

Giannis would be great but the only trade we NEED to make is Yabu's salary + WSH pick for a solid bench wing.

nycericanguy @ 12/17/2025 6:51 AM
and we won without Brunson or KAT having big games.

Yabu and a second for Kevin Love or another wing, that's all we need. Leon will make the right move on the margins

If we could get Kevin Love that would be huge but it would never happen because Ainge will not trade with anyone unless he wins it by a large margin.

Mike Brown is such a nice guy. Thank goodness the Kings are a bunch of clowns and fumbled him.

I think we could do alot better than a washed Love. We have seconds yes but we also have That WSH pick is like 2 late 1sts.

and we have our 1st this year that we cant trade so we dont need the WSH 2nd.

Wow what a game. Very proud of these guys. SAS is the real deal and is going to be a problem for a long long time. Castle pretty much dominated that game while shooting poorly. He has some young Westbrook in him. Just super intense player.

Mitchell Robinson completely changed the trajectory of that game. We were getting punked by their aggressiveness seemingly all game until he came in late in the second half and just dominated inside like we've seen him do time and time again in big games. When you boil the season down to a meaningful game, or a meaningful quarter, Mitch can just be such a difference maker.

Knicks continue to show they can buckle down on defense for a half or a quarter and take over control of the game. That's winning modern NBA basketball. Hang in there with your offense and then get enough stops to win.

Very proud of Kolek - and what an adjustment from Brown to throw him back in the game in crunch time for an extra ball handler. How many times over the last few years have we seen intense ball pressure just completely derail our team late in games and cause a meltdown? Amazing call there to put him back in there and he delivered. In a nutshell, that move was why Brown was hired.

Also very happy for Clarkson. He's been kind of meh and you can tell he's frustrated with his own play. To swing the game like that for us, and win his teammates a bunch of money, and also himself considering he's a vet min guy this year, that was great to see as well.

Just proud of these guys, the whole banner in the rafters thing is corny but every team has done it and it's part of the tradition. And as Brown said, they have a permanent spot in the rafters of MSG even if it's for a watered down trophy.

nycericanguy @ 12/17/2025 7:11 AM
Our bench was huge, Kolek, MItch and clarkson. and we didnt even have Deuce & Shamet. Yabu is not trusted at all and at this point is just probably salary filler. We need another reliable big off the bench, especially if Mitch gets hurt. and what a dominant performance by Mitch, there are alot of big players in the NBA but none rebound like Mitch. He's got a special skill there.
DLeethal @ 12/17/2025 7:12 AM
I know it sounds kind of crazy to say but I was listening to Lowe pod and they think making a Giannis move would actually have high potential to backfire. The chemistry and depth is really good on this team. It's hard to break it up - seismic moves don't always make you better, especially when they deplete the depth. Getting one more wing/big might be all we need. Beating OKC will be a long shot anyway, but this team has a shot against anyone. Giannis is almost 32 and getting injury prone, been hurt in the last few playoffs. Our guys are 3-4 years younger and our team is a contender. IDK if that's something you mess with.

I also want no part of trading Kolek for a more seasoned guard like Alvarado. Kolek can do his job just fine and we have plenty of guard depth.

i agree, but if its straight up for KAT + filler it;s hard to pass that up.

but i'm fine where we are, we beat a healthy defending champs BOS team last year and we have a much better overall team this year.

i'm not even sure I trade Kolek for DDV at this point. Kolek has that TJ scrappy energy and he's a legit pure PG which is something this roster doesn't have. He makes some really great passes and reads out there. He's also young, hungry and cheap.

Yabu + Dadiet + the WSH picks should be able to get us a really good $10m ish player.

I am also very impressed with SAS.

Castle, Harper, Vassel, Barnes, Fox sounds like some kind of medieval board game.

Castle, Harper, Vassel, Wemby is quite the core. I’m very impress by Castle and Harper’s development already.

I don’t really know whether Wemby is a center or a PF. I say that a little laughingly. But he doesn’t seem to have the lower body strength needed to hang in the post. He just can go over the back without leaving he feet. I’d be likely to use him outside on offense and as help on defense. Take away half the court.

I’m liking KATs improvements this year. Feel like Brown might have gotten through to him.

I like that we are around 27 assists per game. Would want to get that up a little.

I’m seeing more aggressive defense from the entire team. Brunson and KAT included.

Clarkson and Kolek have shut me up. They were hot and got us back in the game. Won it, really.

Good win.

Despite my ravings in favor of Giannis, I see this. I don’t want to mess with Mikal and OG. Towns is balling and still has upside mobility with a little more coaching. I think he is such an underused passer. I really think he could have Jokic like numbers if he put his head into it. In the same manner I called for triple double Randle, I’d suggest triple double KAT is likely. Gotta get his head to realize that’s the best version of him.

I don’t really want to trade Mitch.

I have Dadiet, Yabu, and our draft picks as upgrade trade chips. Slim Pickens out there but I’d want a rotation PF and some apron breathing room. If we can’t afford to keep Mitch, then we need to make tough choices.

For 15 mins a night Love would be ok for me. If you look at the salary matches, there isn’t a lot out there in terms of backup big men. It’s like Love and Drummond. Mason Plumlee. Love’s per 36 are like 15/10 with good shooting averages. I’m not calling him the savior, I’m saying he can spell KAT for 15 mins without giving up floor spacing. And if it costs Yabu and a second?

In short, name a better big man under 5.5mm that you might be able to get for Yabu and a second?

you're right not much out there in that salary range after looking at it. Love would be decent then, Saddiq Bey is also a good option as a wing/PF.

Wemby -18 for the game

Spurs lacked poise that comes from experience. They kept composed but forced shots down the stretch.
Mikal was not having a good game and Brown managed it all very well. Mitch came up big with plays but did not do stupid things either.
Kolek just played a very well rounded came. Be great if he can get that outside shot going.

The Hero? It was OG who hit corner shots when needed and came up big with defense! Our Demon is a very very good player!!!!
