While I have fond memories about DDV and it's a feel good story reuniting him with the guys....how do we find minutes? Both Deuce and Shamet are better shooters and play better defense.
nycericanguy wrote:imagine if Dray green gets traded and then bought out? he'd be a dream get for us. would be amazing if someone like that or KP came here via buyout
Dray Green would be the missing ingredient ( toughness)
KP might have as much impact here as he had on his last 3-4 teams( zero impact)and the " Trade KP thread " would be legendary
Draymond is a perfect fit next to KAT but I don't know how we make salaries match and don't get worse.

Yeah let’s keep winning and try to get that number one spot. Let Detroit deal with them in the 2nd round.
I don’t think we can get the 1 seed but at the very least I want the 2 seed

We want cake and we shall eat it too!

Detroit has been lucky this year, I don't think they've had any player miss many games so far. Tobias missed 10 games but no one else has missed a game or 2. They are due

I'd put DDV in the SL and trade Bridges
My trade deadline prediction is that Yabu goes to Tel Aviv as reported, freeing approximately 2.5mm of space.
Trey Lyles exercises his buyout with Real Madrid and takes the 2.5mm to backup PF. Not going to say Trey is Mike Brown's Taj Gibson, but they seemed to have a positive relation in SacTown.
Trade Dadiet into Capspace and sign Conley on a vet min after ChiTown buys him out
Waive Clarkson. Sign Dink.
Brunson / Conley / Kolek
Hart / Deuce / Shamet / Dink
Bridges / Diawara
OG / Lyles
KAT / Robinson / Huk

Bridges is a better player than Donte. As much as I love Donte. Deuce and Shamet have both become such great shooters and defenders, we are pinched for rotation minutes. I’d love Donte back too, but not at the expense of Bridges.

My hunch is Dink plays college hoops next year and gets a fat NIL check and playing time. He can then re-enter the draft down the road after showcasing that first round talent. NIL money is changing the game.

I feel roughly the same way EXCEPT that I do wonder if he would turn down a real NBA contract, not a 2 Way deal.

We have yet to see this really tested, but I have to think it would be hard to turn down an NBA contract. He is definitely trying tp preserve his eligibility though by not signing a 2 Way deal.
if Yabu is bought out and goes to Israel how would that work out next season in free agency, would we have a MLE available ? Would we be able to bring in Lyles to be the 3/4 off the bench Incase Diawara isn't ready.
is the Gleague a viable model for development as hoped? Players getting enough opportunities? Few call ups. Read something recently callking it a "Prison" as its really hard to get a chance. Its why Dadiet negotiated to stay with the big team. Deuce stayed up and might be the model of devleopment to some degree playing down some but had to figure things out. He could kick ass in the Gleague but was not even close with the parent team for while. He closed the gap. Dink? I have no clue if his game can translate. Its about opportunities and yes, money too!
Diawa at age 20 seemed to have that promise as well. What seems like a leverage play is they can stay in Europe but with each passing year they lose the window to jump to NBA. Rokas vs. Dadiet? I respect Dadiet taking the risk.
Mo is getting groomed properly at the big show level. That he is getting opportunities with this "win now" roster is quite compelling!
Here we are!
Tomorrow is the deadline!

If it’s a prison then they are using faux handcuffs. I don’t know what the ratings are for the G league. Heck, I don’t even know how to watch a G league game or if I did if I would. College ball however has a huge audience, tons of booster support and an opportunity to do more than basketball in a pretty fun environment. I think now even high school ballers are getting paid. College is a much better alternative to the G league unless even with all the academic help they give athletes you just can’t manage it.
Just noticing this thread title is pretty much good forever.

The context of a prison was few players are are called up given roster constructions. Thus they are "Stuck".
As for money? I have get players want to get paid and its a buisiness. Your not wrong.
A guy like Dink? Curious what his pay could be and how it can jump star a path to the NBA.
Now, what would be fun is Gleague teams playing against teams like Duke, UK? UNC? that could be fun!

I don't think it would draw the same audiences as college ball. UNC vs Westchester Knicks doesn't really have the same rivalry appeal and history as a UNC/Duke game. Also the physical differences between 18-20 year olds vs the man bodies of 24-26 year old G leaguers is hard to overlook.

WhyTF would Yiannis want to go from Milwaukee to Minneapolis? Would he consent to such another midwestern tundra? WTF?
