Why is Brown bringing back Mitch with a 24 pt lead?

That was off a quick paced dribble and super quick release - very nice.

Kolek was just pointing at the floor telling KAT where to go

Cracks me up that ten year veterans even need that guidance, but glad Kolek is a floor general and not shy about it

Kolek's shot is looking wet this week
nycericanguy @ 1/30/2026 9:44 PM
another game holding an opponent under 100? pretty crazy
BlueKnickers @ 1/30/2026 9:46 PM
Up by 30 with 5 minutes left

Why are the starters out there?

This is Thibsian malpractice by Brown

Where the hell has this been for all of these weeks? We wasted this whole month with that trash ball we been playing.

BlueKnickers @ 1/30/2026 9:47 PM
Anyone see that nasty scratch on Kolek?
Knixkik @ 1/30/2026 9:48 PM
Loving these Brunson plus defense lineups. And even though KAT is still out of sorts offensively, he’s finding ways to contribute. We are seeing the adjustment KAT is making and it’s working.
LivingLegend @ 1/30/2026 9:48 PM
Kat with 20 boards - 3 assists but felt like 10 to me.

Very good game.

Oh and great game from YABU.

We don't need big scoring games from KAT every night. This team is pretty loaded with scoring options.

This was a solid game for KAT.

One thing is obvious with Kolek -- he's working on his shot and he's going to keep working on his game.

Can't let this kid go anywhere short term - hold onto him.

You heard it here first, but in the future you'll see Kolek winning games with big plays in crunchtime.

I think he's going to turn out to be one of our most clutch players.

Dillon Joens sticks 3 and passes Yabu on all-time Knick scoring list.

Also, Kolek could shoot in college. He had good mechanics coming into the league.

He will never be a high volume scorer, but his PPG will rise if he gets regular minutes.

Over time, his shooting % will be more than respectable.

Way to take care of business now let’s beat the Fakers on Sunday.

I really like his potential. He looks like a future 2-way impact guy.

Seems like the best lineup for Brunson is:
Mitch
OG
Bridges
Deuce
JB
This lineup allows him to dominate the ball while they play off of him. The other guys can focus on doing the dirty work and hit open jumpers.
I suspect the best lineup for KAT is:
KAT
Diawara (2027-2028 season’s more developed version)
Hart
Shamet
Kolek
This KAT lineup would probably have better chemistry with him. They would also probably get him the ball in his spots better than the first group. Diawara’s development is key because he is a more natural passer and ball handler than both OG and Bridges. I foresee he and Hart being able to grab offensive rebounds when KAT drifts out on the perimeter. Plus Hart can slash to the basket with KAT pulling the bigs out of the lane. Obviously Kolek has the best chemistry with KAT than all of our guards.

Kolek needs to get minutes. KAT and Bridges have been the most impacted by him not being in the rotation. He has court vision that neither Brunson or Deuce does. When these guys are getting fed on offense they seem to be more locked in on defense. I know Hart is a leader on his team so we should keep starting him, but after a few minutes we need to sub in Deuce to go with the backcourt rotation I highlighted in that previous post: JB/Deuce and Kolek/Shamet. Then for the rest of the game just rotate Hart/Mikal/OG at SF/PF. And for the times that we go double bigs, we should always have Deuce or Shamet at SG.

Not sure which one of you works for the Knicks org, but thank you for showing my post to the Knicks coaching staff.

There's not that many 6'9" guys with big wingspans with his natural feel and athleticism. In any era.

Feel is often what defines stars, not eye-popping athleticism, anyway. He has a good feel for the game and the flow and handle to act on his instincts.

The closest comp in today's NBA is Siakam.

He's 19 so he will get stronger and maybe even a little taller.

His upside is huge. No predictions here, because it is mostly going to be due to his work ethic, because his talent is immense.

If he does the work and stays healthy, he has potential to become a #1 or #2 scoring option on a contender in his early twenties.
