Bonn, Melky had 2 pretty nice seasons before last. People seem to forget that. No reason to believe he'll have a bad one, now that he's off to a hot start.

He's good at getting young bullpen pitching arms. I've always given him credit for that. Even when I kept hoping for a new GM, I said I'd want him retained as an advanced bullpen pitching scout (although he probably wouldn't accept the offer).
As far as using the farm system for hitters/fielders for our current roster is concerned, he's gotten us 1 very good hitter/fielder in Cano and 1 who's looked very good for a fourth of one season in Melky. That's not terrible but it doesn't strike me as amazing either.
There are a couple of really big time ones on the way- Austin Jackson, Jesus Montero, Austin Romine.

ok...a popular topic but let's give some props to cashman.
a team who's minor league system ranked amongst the worst in 2005 has been radically transformed.
we have cano and now melky. we have guys like gardner contributing. and we are seeing some really nice flashes from cervelli. joba has been good and hughes is starting to come around. coke is a reliable lefty in the pen too and now aceves is looking like ramiro mendoza part 2. it takes a long time to rebuild a farm system and cashman, imho, is doing a good job.
thank you... & that's also not to mention how good the team looks when guys are doing what they're supposed to be doing & executing on the field... like i've said all along, the GM can only put together the team on paper & can only do so much to factor in for things like injuries to key players & underperformers... the rest is up to the players to go out & do what they're capable of doing... now these guys are doing it & you're seeing the team winning ballgames... pretty basic concept.

Well if what you say is accurate, then they're simply *on their way* to making my list

I disagree. His offensive production those years was WAY below (we're talking about 100 OPS points) what you'd expect from a regular outfielder.
gonna be a great series vs. a very good team in the Phillies... Raul Ibanez is ballin' bigtime for them this year & along with Rollins, Victorino, Utley & Howard form 1 of the best lineups in baseball.
going to be a fun series. phillies are gamers man...and they get big time hits.
our bullpen is in a bad way right now. bruney had pain in the elbow yesterday, mri shows nothing but he's out today and tomorrow. we need aj + cc + andy to step up after the pen got spent last night.
at least CMW was called up & is available for long relief duty in a pinch... Alby got sent down.
Rollins is a bigtime gamer & i love the guy's leadership skills... i know he's talked some trash about the Mets but he backed it up.

Bruney's made out of Styrofoam. It's a shame because he's very good when healthy.

jeez, didn't take long for the guy to make his presence known.
will not be a good weekend for ERA's...
another sparkling defensive play by Teix... AJ did a good job to get outta that inning w/o allowing more than the leadoff HR.
still early enough in the game to be w/in reach but they gotta start hitting Myers.
Still early in the season but AJ has been very disappointing.
7 homeruns tonight. man alive...
The New Yankee Stadium, the House that Home Runs Built.
In retrospect, holding onto I-Rod would actually have been very smart.
hindsight is 20/20 bonn. with posada coming back and molina healthy, plus with these 2 young catchers, it would've been overload.
