Jeter tied with Gehrig. Legend!

dont know how many watched the game but when jeter tied gehrig and reached first base, he had tears in his eyes but (as he said afterwards when interviewed) he didnt want to celebrate b/c the team was still down a few runs and he also didnt want to disrespect the rays. then, once the crowd started chanting his name, he took off his helmet and gave a short salute.

real classy moment from a real classy guy.

Was at the game last night. Awesome game - you just knew that Posada was going to hit a HR right there, you could just feel it as he walked up to bat.

When Jeter tied the Iron Horse the stadium was friggen loud man. When I say it was loud - it was LOUD.

Congrats to Derek Jeter!

I'm not scared yet, but what is up with AJ Burnett. We're on track to take home the title, but if this guy is our no.2 starter and pitching like this, we may have some issues.

CC & AJ is my choice to start off any playoff series at 1 & 2, because I'd want Andy pitching in game 3 on the road where his stats are much better this year (AJ's stats are much better at YS too)... that also puts our ace CC in a possible game 7 start situation following up Andy who's usually clutch in big games in game 6 if it ever came down to it.

best record in the AL gets to choose if they want the extra off day in the ALDS. means yanks only need 3 starters for the ALDS.

Is that true? Not that I don't believe you but can you link to that? O never would have guessed that MLB would allow its teams to schedule

On July 27th Burnett was 10-4 with a 3.53 ERA and probably on pace for a 17 or 18 win season. Man things have gone south since then.

. Absolutely. I don't want to see Sergio Mitre pitch again in a Yankee uniform.

Mitre's hot & cold... i don't think u can rely on him in any postseason game & i doubt (or at least i hope) that Joe G feels the same way.

looks like burnett will have more pies to the face than wins this year. don't really care as long as he performs in october...
