Matsui 35yrs old
Damon 36yrs old
Pettitte 37yrs old

All of them are now free agents. All of them contributed mightily in the postseason.

Where does each one go from here??? Abreu resigned with the Angels today ... 2yrs 19mil.

probably slim to none. he's under contract for another year and TOR wont trade him within their division most likely and even if they would the pricetag in terms of talent would be too high, especially for us.

if Andy retires then id go after John Lackey or that Cuban lefty Chapman.

i have a feeling the Yanks wont be willing to sign any of them to anything more than incentive laden 1 yr type deals, similar to what Andy got this year. i think Damon and Andy would probably be more likely to sign than Matsui. I think Matsui will look for a bigger guaranteed deal for more years.

personally i think we should just keep the team intact the way it is if we can do it without breaking the bank for a long amount of years. these guys all showed they are still major contributors to the team's success.

congrats guys!

I give it to Boston so far, but if the Yankees win next season (Yes, 2010 is part of this decade contrary to popular and ignorant belief) then I would say the Yankees pocketed "Team of the decade" once again.

holy crap, TMS, he just called you ignorant...you gonna take that?

personally i don't count 1990 as part of the 80s any more than i consider 2000 part of the 90s decade... if that makes me ignorant then so be it.

I didn't call you ig-orant. I called the misconception ig-orant.

Nice pics and videos TMS. Did you get all giggly like a little girl when Derek Jeter waved at you?
Allanfan20 @ 11/10/2009 5:37 PM
BTW, I don't have time to post articles, but Derek Jeter and Mark Texeira won the gold gloves for shortstop and first base.

when Damon pointed up at me & told his little girl to say hi it was awesome... u can tell he really appreciates the love the fans are showing him & is willing to take the time to acknowledge it.

VDesai @ 11/10/2009 10:30 PM
Teix really deserves his...I don't think I've ever seen one make as many hit/run saving plays at first base. His range/reflexes were astounding
djsunyc @ 11/11/2009 10:39 AM
