And CC pitching into the 8th inning! That's the monster horse we paid for! Epley finishes the 9th...Yankees win...thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Yankees WIN!!!
2 games up. Life is good.
In less promising news, Ivan Nova sucks cack this year. His record is very deceiving, but you can't hide that 5.02 ERA. Just an awful performance, what happened to this kid, and do you seriously trot him out in the postseason if and when Yanks clinch??
It will be interesting to see if they go with Nova Tuesday. Lowe would be the better choice except that I don't know if he can go more than 3 or 4 innings.
counter-Nova daydreams: somewhere, I think, I hope, I can hear Pineda's heater destroying some catcher's glove.
Best Come from behind victory: 9-6 over Toronto!
Murderer's Row part Deux!
Beat down on the lowly Sux! So much for my conspiracy theories of them laying down for the O's so they can then stick it to us! Bobby V for POTUS!
Only bad thing is, Tampa no longer has any reason to show up this season.
I will hate to have to play on Friday. We're way too schizo of an offensive team.
One day we're 2 sac bunts, the next day we're 4 homers.
Robbie Cano; it's like a grown man playing softball with little boys.
God how I loathe susan. Waldman. Cano's kicking azz and she's having on-air. orgasmic contractions over Mike trout.
Hate the beetch.
Yankees win it in true Yankee fashion- 14 to 2. Yeah, even though Baltimore lost, so the game didn't matter, the Yanks still went out and did it. Congratulations! This was the wildest end of season in a long time.
$189 million dollars worth of grittiness!
Now let the games begin! Almost everyone's healthy! Bullpen's going to be mega-rested.
Cano's out of his mind.
Sheet, even Gardner got a hit!
Feel bad Andruw Jones is not going to be on the playoff roster, but I'm not too sure why I feel that.
Hahaha so many questions looking at that picture!
The Yankees definitely *should* be able to handle Baltimore. If they aren't, it's time for Hank and Hal to get lost.
I will say that I think Joe Girardi did a magnificent job managing CC this year. You have to balance the goals of having him healthy and in rhythm (not rusty) for the playoffs, and he looks ready for the post-season now.
Russel Martin. Believe it
Russell. He catches. He throws. He hits when it counts.
And I'm buying an Ibanez jersey, and I don't care if he retires next year.
Sterling's call on Swisher's RBI single that turned into getting thrown at second was classic. "THAT BALL IS HIGH, IT IS FAR....it...is ...he's thrown out at second..."
And apparently Susan Waldman can't tell the difference between Cano and Tex. It's sooooo easy to get those two people confused.
Radio is such a great medium.
Almost makes me wish I had cable or satellite TV. Until I listen to Michael Kay.
Joe doesn't have the guts to do it but he should rest A-Rod game 3 and play Chavez. Here are their #s against righties:
Chavez: .298/.365/.543 (BA/OBP/SLUG)
A-Rod: .256/.326/.391

agreed
at the very least Joe needs to drop ARod in the lineup

He'll probably compromise and drop A-Rod a few spots but the smarter decision would be to rest him against righties right now.

Removing Swisher altogether for a few games might be a wise move too.

I love Swish but he's allergic to October... he's a Billy Bean batter. He's really only good for drawing a walk because as we all know it's a lot harder to get a double or homer this time of the year
Bean's approach emphasizes walks but walks certainly aren't the only thing. I'm sure Bean would not be happy with Swisher's postseason #s. I'm sure he'd also point out that we're talking about only 130 at-bats though. It's basically the equivalent of a month-long slump, which could happen to anyone.
