10 of our remaining 32 games are against the elite teams of the AL (teams at least ten over .500)
17 of Seattle's 32 are against elite teams.
And Detroit has only 6 games against elite AL teams.
They won't put Joba in the rotation this year after just switching him to the bullpen- don't want to mess with his arm too much.
Ian Kennedy is the best solution out there, but its likely Stephen White will take Moose's next turn in the rotation.
Right now the playoff rotation is only 3 deep.
sweeping boston is the only chance to even discuss a possible division title. anything less and it's wildcard or bust. at least seattle lost too but detroit is right on our tail.

Moose needs to be a longman for now & get away from starting games so he can work w/the coaching staff on some things, maybe switch up his mechanics a little, vary his arm angles a-la El Duque to get some more deception & movement on his pitches, work on his offspeed stuff so he doesn't have to rely on that fastball, or should i say meatball.
Btw, Sean Henn got sent down & Chris Britton was called up... w/Villone on the DL we have no lefty in the BP now.
John Heyman reports the Yankees have decided not to start Moose in his next game & are deciding between either Steven White or Ian Kennedy for that start.

Wow! I'm surprised!
Yes! Big game, Big spot... gets into trouble, but strikes out 2 while stranding 2 men on the bases.
good ol' Andy... stops the bleeding once again... very solid outing tonight once again when we REALLY needed it.
Joba sweated just a bit but still pretty filthy... welcome to the rivalry rook... there's gonna be lots more fist pumps for u in the coming years.
& how about Johnny Damon? he mistimed that leap in LF on V-tek's HR, but he more than made up for it on that 2 run dinger to right... that curtain call had to feel extra sweet for him... i noticed he seemed to take extra pleasure in soaking that one in.
just got back from the game...that was fun.
stadium cheered when they said joba was warming up.
two older ladies were about to throw bows at each other. they had to be restrained and they were ejected.
i'm going to the game tomorrow too - clemens/beckett...should be fun.
btw, varitek is just a nasty pain in the ass.
btw, pettite after a loss is automatic. 198 wins...
Ian Kennedy called up... he'll get Moose's next start

my guess is unless Kennedy just absolutely dominates in the start vs TB, that Moose will get skipped this turn & then they'll probably stick him back in the rotation... let's all hope that the rook shows something, otherwise we could see Moose pitching in the rotation again this season.

$60 ain't bad for a Red Sux - Yankees game... i got 1 more game to go to the last sunday game vs. TOR

btw, i don't know if we'll see him starting in the postseason regardless if he pitches well or not because he's on an innings cap just like Joba & Hughes & he's already up to 146 innings... i think he's got about 3 starts left in him before they shut him down for the year.
Only one game behind Seattle (although 2 in the loss column). And we have an easier remaining schedule. I feel good about our chances!

Pettitte's been great. He should have closer to 16 wins right now. Mariano blew 2 of his saves and he's had some poor run support in a few other games.
only santana is a better 2nd half pitcher than pettite for the past 5 years. i think pettite is 8-1 since the all star break.
