Q
Isiah was one of the worst GMs in NBA history.Jerome James on a 5 year deal at 30MM - played on season
Eddy Curry - worst trade in NBA history, 2 number 1 picks that Noah and Aldrige for a guy that was to fat and stupid to contribute
Jamal Crawford - 37MM for Jerome Williams to overpay a 6th man
Channing Frye - over Granger and Bynum
Kurt Thomas - useful role player for QRich and his 58MM deal for the rights to Nate Robinson
Marty Collins - over Rondo and Lowry
Nazar Mohomed - expiring deal for the 29th pick, and Malik Rose. 9MM in salary for two years for a pick that could be bought for 3MM
Jared Jefferies - full mid level
Moving Ariza for Steve FrancisTrading a draft selection for mo taylor
Quite possibly the dumbest gm in the history of the league (outside of Billy King)
Thank you, finally someone who remembers the actual Isiah era and filth that he dragged us through. All because he wanted a backcourt of Marbury and Stevie Franchise. One dumb starfukk outdone in its stupidity only by the next. Two first round picks for Eddy Curry - and we are comparing Phil to this number 1 entry in the dumb@$$ HOF?
A lot of I T moves were win now moves, maybe some of you forgot the roster inherited and trust me, I hated Thomas. Phil turned a 54 win team into a 17 win team in one yr, he started rebuilding 2 season ago, and still has nothing but KP and willy to show for it.They are running Neck and Neck in my book, they just have different ways of turning the franchise into a completely laughing stock
That's interesting, I thought he inherited a 37 win team with Bargnani, Chandler (who wanted out) and Felton. Along with a broken ass Kmart and Amare.

There was a season in between. The 54 win team was not sustainable, in fact, it crumbled in second round to Boston.
If thats your benchmark, your just distraught over the current state. That's fine, its your prerogative, but its a bit irrational.
minor correction. crumbled to Pacers with Melo getting crushed by Hibbert at the rim
Melo is still productive and while not a top 10 talent, he is paid as one.
Half a season down his only bad contract is Noah. We extrapolate the present into the future so we can't see Noah ever playing better.
Rose was a low cost gamble. ONe IM not convinced either way.
Phil botch the Fish hire, but he did hire Kerr and on paper Fish was solid. Who knew Fish's libido would drive him?
Isiah publicly embarassed Chaney, botched his negotiations with Fratello, hired Wilkens on impulse.
Phil tore it down to the studs and had a 17 win season. Isiah rebuilt a team with a pay roll 32% higher, and nearly DOUBLE the mean roster salary in 2007-8 that produced 23 wins and NO DRAFT PICKS!!!!
Phil is an arrogant prick whose big scandal is calling out his ball hog star (valid) and MAYBE planting a story.
Isiah empowered Marbury.
Isiah dragged the front office into a very embarrassing sexual harassment suit and lost.
Not even close.

Typical HATERADE. Can you tell me the the box score for that game? Who else showed up? Who carried the team for entire game/year/series? How did Chandler play? At least we all know where all the anti Melo posts are coming from. Get over it brah. Now go out and be somebody.

My vote is to get the guy that got us KP and Willy.....Gaines!! To be the new GM. Let Dolan lose some more money with Phil's contract. Hell, while were at it, let him fire Hornacek too and lose some more of Dolan's money. Then maybe we can hire a defense oriented coach.

Like I said, let Gaines make all the roster decisions. Lol. Btw. Gaines is the European scout. Therefore, responsible for Kuz, KP and Willy. Phil's only good move was Holiday. And he was a throw in with Rose. Kudos if he demanded it as Holiday can play. Also, cant blame him for Lee. My gripe is that he is invisible when issues come up (Rose), stirs up drama that is horrible for team morale, and arragont as heck. And ofcourse committing so much to Noah. Heard a guy talking about Phil and he made lots of sense. Said that when Phil was stirring shit up as a coach, that the difference is he was around every day to clean stuff up.
However, I dont think we are in such bad shape. Hopefully we can tweek the roster a bit. If Melo is still here and we can tread water until the trade deadline, think the team will move on and focus on the basketball. Rose comes off the books next year, we can get a floor general that can stop penetration. Hire a defensive coordinator. Trade/waive Noah. Let Gaines make our 1st. round pick. Not to mention we have had 7 games where we lost by 3 or less. We win those and we would be in 3rd.

scouts are not GM's. They can find 10 great finds, but someone has to make the choice. Can't take them all. Fans can say whom they like, but the path to acquire, or path to draft is always easy in hindsight.

Yes. If you say anything negative about their precious little scoring champ, you become a "HATER". Never mind that all their verbiage at you is laced with hate, ridicule and disrespect for your position as a fan. This is a pattern of behavior. So instead of discussing what is wrong with a player or players they end up discussing you.
It works well, this tactics, especially in a alternate facts world. I have just stopped reading their garbage. Not worth the time, honestly.

hear you; though if you don't take it personally it's kind of amusing at points especially when they can't spell, or they don't know who the GM is, or when they criticize you for stating a fact (not even an opinion)
I don't hate melo is the funniest part though. It's simply not working for us, and frankly it's not working for him. Last night he shot superbly but still went 0-fer-everything in the fourth, was a -15 for the game, and had 7 turnovers. It's simply not working for us. The other night some posters thought Melo won the game against the Pacers even though he was a -1, and the bench was like +11 (and coupled with the fact that notorious Knick haters Reggie Miller and Tommy Heinsohn gushed about the bench in each respective victory)
If he goes to Cleveland i suspect he'll be dynamite and I'll be happy for him.

Fans can say whom they like, but the path to acquire, or path to draft is always easy in hindsight.
and for that matter Phil is not the GM; it's Mills. I was reluctant to bring this up because Hofstra get's very testy about things (especially being wrong). And for a guy who goes around accusing everyone of being a hater he does a pretty good job with Phil hate.
Not trying to get nasty or get into the weeds about this discussion. But be honest. Dont you think its just a little funny that a poster named "meloshouldgo" is complaining about being called a melo hater? Just a little funny?

Also, Isaih was too dumb to know how to hide all his slimy personality traits. He was blatant and out in the open with them.My vote is to get the guy that got us KP and Willy.....Gaines!! To be the new GM. Let Dolan lose some more money with Phil's contract. Hell, while were at it, let him fire Hornacek too and lose some more of Dolan's money. Then maybe we can hire a defense oriented coach.
People talk about being patient, has phil shown any desire to be patient, he's on the verge of scraping his rebuilt roster for a 4th time. what exactly does that tell you?

Yes, I think it's best for the team if Melo leaves. Felt that way for years, so why is that hateful? Are the people so thin skinked that any position about Melo has to be called hate? You are doing the same thing you are trying to make this a conversation about me.

Couldn't of made it any clearer that this was not mean spirited, but you still enthusiastically took it that way. This is why I dont discuss Melo with you. Its enough of a sensitive subject to make your screenname about him. Lesson learned.

I didn't think it was mean spirited at all- If I had, I wouldn't have responded.
I was just trying to understand why taking a position has to be associated with hate. You may not do that but clearly people do this all the time. The question stands.
