Just a couple of quick clarifications. A lot of this is due to where you get your information For instance:
The Biden administration will release unemployment numbers before they are finalized. Two weeks later when they are finalized the sources that you get your information from will NOT report that unemployment is not 2.6% as initially reported but 4.6% and that the majority of the jobs created were by adding government jobs and not private sector jobs. The stock market will also predictably react to both sets of numbers.
The crime numbers were also released when they were incomplete and the sources that you get your information from did not tell you that they did not include large Democratic Cities like NYC or Chicago. So when the missing information is added for major crime riddled cities you find that the crime rate went up and not down and also predictably the murder rate went up and not down. The news source that you get your information from will not report the updated and accurate national numbers.
When people started returning to NYC in the 90's it was because everyone got so tired of the quality of life under Democratic Mayors that they actually elected a Republican Mayor. His name was Rudy Giuliani, you've probably heard of him but might only be old enough to know him from the clown show he turned into later in life. Back in the 90's he cleaned NYC up and started the turn around of Times Square clearing out all the porn and crime. He made NYC safe and brought back tourism.
These are just a few examples but you get my point. The numbers are being manipulated to control a narrative.

I remember playing football as a kid and we had these grumpy old couples that would get so mad if we got within a foot of their lawn. They seemed convinced the world was coming to an end and not what it used to be. Thing about life is that you have people that want to believe the world is a terrible place. Either because they have nothing going for themselves or because they are full of regrets. Politicians know there are millions of these type of people. They will use them to get what they want. You can drink the cool aid and believe them or you can pay attention to all the good things life has to offer. Point is that his only concern is how he will profit from his stance. Not what Trump represents or if he wins. Agree that it’s obvious that he benefits more if Trump wins. But Elon knows that his support for Trump will translate to more cars sold regardless if Trump wins.
You can't simultaneously say Elon doesn't care who wins while acknowledging that Elon's main goal is to profit while also stating he is supporting the one candidate that he knows will help him profit.

Elon knows regardless if Trump wins, he has gained support/sales from far right population, who had previously refused to buy any clean energy product. So money supporting Trump was well spent.
Elon has ALWAYS been about promoting his products, boosting sales and getting richer. Don’t think he is swayed by WHO wins based on any other platform stance.
But as I mentioned above, Elon would benefit MORE financially if Trump won. Therefore I concede your point how my statement that he does not care is wrong.
Semantics and failure to convey main point aside , think we both agree that Musk’s only goal is to make more money. And will say or promote those who make that possible. Regardless of ethics, morals and any other value.

Musk said in recent interview he is "fucked if Harris wins". Not sure why. Low self esteem maga heads don't buy Teslas. I have friends that would buy one but are really turned off by Musk and his political stance.
LA Times. Like Disney and others, are they just tilting away from taking a stance? Target and Budwiser thought they were doing the right thing but when MAGA jumps in it they end up polarizing customers. Employees do want to know where they stand as it matters to them. TO be inclusive and tolerant used to be a good thing. Now its can cost you.

I don't agree with that statement. If Trump wins, Elon gains Trump's support. Winning the election does nothing for Elon's Tesla business in terms of sales from those who voted for Trump in this election. If you think otherwise, please explain how all of those voters without the $ to buy Tesla's will now buy them?

If its true the Chinese gov't is subsidizing as they are accused of then its unfair practice. Europe has to deal with this also.
BYD, a big manufacturer can undercut by owning about the full supply chain including their own boats. Now, if this is pure, then they are playing by the rules and gain market share causing others to confirm to compete. If Not, they should be taxed to the point its kept out. But on items that cannot be replicated domestically at super low prices (Not cars!) tariffs hurt the consumer. Consider furniture. Some products make sense to be made in USA given the cost of shipping and delivery time. Mostly case goods like upholstered items such as a couch. Many items that need assembly are far more efficient to be shipped and made overseas. These are often non luxury items and if so middle class pays the bulk. We can go on and and and its complicated. Most of Trumps gig is getting folks worked up about how "China cheats" and we are suckers. Well, its not so cut an dry as that. Details are boring and beyond his lazy ass. Tesla really did help the China EV manufacturing complex. He knew what he was getting into. If US inflicts massive Tarrifs vs China, what do you think will happen to his sales in China? Its his biggest market. Think he has not known about all this for some time? He thought it would take them longer to build a competitive product. Elon was wrong. As his idea that a Truck EV would be accepted by them as well. Will it work? Who the hell knows.
